my 60gb team xtreme SSD now seems like dying already. only 4 months old. sad.gif

if used as primary HDD, windows 7 will hang in few minutes.

if used as secondary HDD, it will get disconnected after few minutes & cannot view in My Computer.

try doing a secure wipe n see does tht help

Do they know which boards have issues and which dont?
*
its sandforce controller problem and i dont think they have completely pinpoint the root cause of the problem yet.

for me, I dont get BSOD but just the whole system freeze after an hour or 2 of operations. But after updating to the latest firmware, I been running a week nonstop already

@ronaldjoe
my corsair force 3 also show the same result.
one is firmware 1.2 brand new out of the box with fresh win7x64, achi and trim enable
2nd is after flashing to 1.3
and this one is 1 week later, testing under normal condition (all apps open)
user posted image
and the other 2 results are within a +-5% margin as the above

err... What size was ur force3? Mine is the 120GB model.
give or take the theoretical and practical speeds

but been running default power settings and I'm still fine.
just a question where do u store ur pagefile or do u even have it loaded?

last week b4 i did the firmware update, the ssd completely failed and windows wasn't able to detect it and yet so many of windows system files was cache onto my ram that I ran surf the web for another 30minutes b4 I was annoy with Chrome bugging out and than I notice the ssd have failed and required a cold boot. >.<

i doubt its cpu bottleneck, I would rather say its sata controller on mobo that the bottleneck.

and I disable pagefile on the ssd and move it to the hdd instead.

I can do that but I just set it there just to safe. eventhough I have a 16gb ram config.

oh ya, hibernation is also disable. whistling.gif who needs hibernation when ssd out performs from a cold boot tongue.gif

true. for most case especially gaming machine. pagefile can be disable.

but as I say I using the hdd for pagefile just in case.
my normal usage eats 1/4 of my ram. I'm the type of idiot that like to open 30 tabs in chrome.
but my case, I have some .Net 4 apps that are memory suckers and Vbox running. (i'm still disappointed by intel with its implementation of VT-d)

@riku2replica
If ur mobo support sata3, than why not? you are seeing a double in transfer speed here.

@alamak
although crucial m4 are affordable but it would be a nightmarish task of RMA for the unlucky fellow. if only I didn't bought my corsair force3 120GB for rm620 than I might say something differently

I see, Still I see a lot of users are complaining Cosair F3 SSD facing corruption and BSODs. As Cosair F3 is one of the Sata 3 SSD on RM600~700 range.
*
yes alot of ppl are complaining abt sandforce sata3 ssd having multitude of problems. but I see most SB mobo user tend to say the firmware update usually solves their problems.
if u want to play safe than go with marvel based ssd

SSD are still relative a new technology and has been evolving very fast these few years. Its more likely that you would outgrow ur ssd or break it by acts of god than u finish up ur write cycle. Just think about how old ur first pendrive is. I have a fully usable 128MB pendrive 7 or 8 years old but it still works but just I have outgrow it and switch to a few pendrive already

It's not poison, it rocks!  rclxm9.gif  If TRIM was supported in raid mode, I'd raid 2 x 64gb like bro owi too (except he raided 2 x 128)

AFAIK, BSOD issue still unsolved but some user have it some didn't, seems like depends on ur luck.. better choose non sf controller like intel or crucial to playsafe..
*
what mobo and ssd r u using?
I heard most SF controller drives that update to latest firmware works well with intel 6 series chipset

oh you have to play that song in the background drool.gif

my boot time is slower here(17 sec to desktop and 40sec for all apps to load), but than I have all my applications that running. turning it off, I shave off 17 seconds off to total of 23sec.

but what i love abt ssd is that, SSD allows me to run apps immediately when desktop is loaded while apps still are loading in thr background unlike hdd when u need to wait for everything to be loaded furst b4 u can use the comp.

this is my speed for my Corsair Force 3 120GB
before the firmware update (v1.3)

after the update(v1.3.3)

i think the performance degradation maybe due to normal day2day use

can give check the health of ur SSD in SMART? using programs like ssdlife
also if u can try benchmarking ur ssd and see is it still ok or not.

@kahjye
can post the results?

maybe ur ssd has too many apps installed?
for ssd that have degrade over time, u need a secure delete in order to restore back to fullspeed

I have an extra Samsung SSD(THIS) and I'm using THIS MOBO.

Question #1 : If I were to use the SSD, will my MOBO slow down the performance?
Question #2 : If I were to sell, how much will it worth in the market now? (used unit)
*
1) your SSD & mobo is sata2. so both should be able to run at their optimal speed
2) idk. wait for another forumer to reply u on that
