No, dun phase it out, instead make the SSD moar cheaper flex.gif .
since 1 ssd is already super fast, i wonder how raidx0 speed will becom hmm.gif
i mean apart from bench-marking, more on daily user usage.

My crucial M4 just arrived and I installed windows 7 on it. May I know how to make the boot time even faster? I've already tried the optimisation from
CODE

http://thessdreview.com/ssd-guides/optimization-guides/the-ssd-optimization-guide-2/

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-performance-tweak,2911.html

http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=340129

it does improve a bit but still not satisfy.. I saw some people at youtube using crucial M4 can boot faster even the boot animation still spinning and not complete and it go to windows already.. may i know how it can be done?

BTW my laptop spec as below:
CODE

i7 2670QM 2.2ghz
ram 8gb 1333mhz
nvidia 540M
crucial M4 128gb

Swapped Corsair Force 3 with Vertex 3 this morning.
Updated firmware for both.
Corsair in FW 1.32 and Vertex 3 in FW 2.13.
Cloned the OS ssd in less than 10 minutes.

Crucial and Intel SSDs are more reliable.
U don't need those unstable SF based SSDs.

Sandforce vs Marvell

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Apr 28 2011, 12:34 AM)
I'd say C300 128GB is the best SSD in the market atm.
4K Random Read is the most important thing for 97% of users, primarily at QD1.
The C300 is still the fastest at 4K reads from QD 1 to 4 and it stands its ground with 4K writes as well, even beats out the newer M4.

While I would love to see how memristor-based SSDs will perform against conventional NAND-based SSDs and own one, I would guess that the initial price will be where NAND-based SSDs were originally priced at: sky-high.

I'm ambivalent about putting memristor in the RAM or the CPU however, because of its non-volatile nature. Non-volatile memory will enable our operating systems to have the feature of instant off, as in unpowered or unplugged, and instant on; much faster than the slow 'hibernate' or power consuming 'sleep'. However, items like unencrypted passwords or your porn can remain in the memory, where they can be read by attackers with the proper training and equipment. Lost your laptop? Better change all your passwords and hope that your porn, company or government secret data isn't in the 32GB of memristor RAM.

Bad enough that our current volatile RAM can keep data long enough to be transferred if it is cooled. Memristors will make such exploits much easier and potentially more commonplace. Hopefully our OS and hardware developers can come up with good solutions before it is too late, ones that don't cost too much in terms of performance.

That was two months old. I am pretty sure that any advantages that the Kingston SSD had is gone by now. You should look at it as yet another SandForce-based SSD now.
