QUOTE(prazole @ Oct 25 2010, 07:34 PM) most basic specs! I know i cant expect much from a netbook but how does it fare when comparing to a average spec notebook for surfing/photoshopping etc? prompt responsiveness? Am still thinking whether to go for 128 + 4Gb Ram...very happy with it.. its fast n no lag.. going to stress on the system to the limit! |

QUOTE(prazole @ Oct 25 2010, 07:20 PM) Congrats on the new baby! Freaking fast isn't it? I wasn't even sure I can start using it when it loaded up after those lightning fast bootup, but the cursor was moving when I slide around the glass trackpad. I see the basic specs MBA you got there as a pretty serious enticement for those to upgrade from the highest end iPad Wifi +3G. The price for iPod Touch 4G 64GB + top up less than RM200 = gets you a basic entry level iPad Wifi 16GB(US Price with tax) The price for iPad WiFi 64GB(US Price with tax) + top up less than RM300 = gets you a basic entry level MacBook Air 11" 64GB Clever tiered pricing, if I can say so myself. The moment the end user decides to get the highest end specced of a lower-tiered product, he would start considering upgrading to another tiered product at its basic entry level specs. Genius! I've ordered the Waterfield SleeveCase and Suede Jacket Sleeve from sfbags.com to complement my own newly purchased MBA, it should be shipping end of this month. Good times! |

So you are suggesting if MBA/portability is the aim, go for the 64/2gb ram basic spec? I'm suggesting that Apple now has coherent lineup of portable hierarchy that makes the end user think about what they're gonna do with them.
As for how much storage left, ask Prazole. Mine still left within the 100GB after installing all my necessary apps. And I'm in LYP now buying 1TB WD USB-powered HDD for my iTunes library. Pair this setup with the new AppleTV just bought=watching shows/movies on widescreen hotel HDTVs, won't be bored during extended nightstops during work trips. |

I had lived comfortably with 2GB RAM on my previous 2.13GHz C2D model do I don't foresee any problems with the processor or RAM allocations. |

QUOTE(HW-Racer @ Oct 24 2010, 12:28 PM) Saw the current macbook air 13" at rm3299 120GB serial ata, 13.3 inch (previously rm5599) at an electrical Correct me if i wrong...cant remember so much Store, and saw it at the Machins price still rm5599.... Why so much different ? So I buy tis old model with one USB or wait for the new 11.1 inch macbook air with 64gb flash , both At same price Current MBA 13" 120GB sata at RM3.2k compared with 11" MBA with 64GB flash both boot up.. of course MBA 11" had faster start-up. But in term of bus speed MBA 13" is 1066MHZ 6mb L2 cache and MBA 11" is 800 mhz and only 2-3mb L2 cache. then old MBA got backlit keyboard...newer version of MBA = NONE OLD MBA 1 X usb, old grahics board ,old touch pad , Newer version MBA 2 x USB ,New graphics card and new large touch pad and lastly of course..13" VS 11" This post has been edited by weileong: Oct 25 2010, 11:33 PM |
