hmm, for some reasons, my ssd sometimes take 9 seconds(counted with clock) to open up word... 9 seconds was what it toke me to open up my word when i was using the conventional 5400rpm hdd

Anyone knows whats going on? it is really unusual for this to happen....

normal time is usually 2-3 seconds.

and i havent even used it for a month.... explanation??? anyone??

Anybody use DiGi broadband with Mac and play SC2? My digi bb disconnected and prompt a network error message box whenever the temperature hit 80 degree celsius. SC2 is utilizing 80-100% cpu usage thus the temp. is very high, is it normal on Mac?

After digi disconnected, I can't redial/reconnect, it just prompt an empty error message box. I have to unplug the usb modem and re-plug it in to reconnect.

I thought it's my Macbook problem, so I try to play SC2 on my Mac mini, same issue, digi disconnected when the Mac temp. is high

Cool.. but looking back on what someone suggested to me for a PC upgrade.. its totally half the price of a Macbook! Decision's down to my father in the end though.. thanks for your help 

I hope I can enjoy with this new os which is leopard snow...so the question here is how can I prolong the battery life in the new macbook pro 13 inch..??..because this model came with built in battery..means we cannot unplugged the battery just like the other laptop in the market..

I wan to ask how to change those alien word to chinese word.. because my album are in chinese word but when i put in to itunes it become alien word..

now the point is i wan to change those alien word back to chinese word.. got anyone can enlighten me or guild me through this point?

Just wondering is it worth it to get an external hard disk with FireWire 800 instead of USB 2.0?

I found one with both FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 that is around RM400. A regular external 2.5 HDD with USB only costs RM250 nowadays.
They are both 500GB and yes, I'm looking for that amount of capacity

OK so this is kinda weird. Whenever I type on my MBP, and my arm touches the edge of the aluminum unibody, I get a tiny 'electrical shock'. Like a tingling sensation. A little painful lah. But very minimal. I was wondering if this happens to anyone else and is this normal?

Usually I just "x" or minimise them and they go to my dock, then a bit leceh to open one by one everytime. Was hoping I can just swipe the applications like cover flow or sth.

I just use Expose. I barely ever touch the red and yellow icons on the top left. If I wanna close a window, just Cmd + W or Cmd + Q to quit. But I was wondering if everyone else here uses Expose on a regular basis. Or is there a better way to multitask?

Hey guys , im using a Mac Book Pro 15"inch 256MB graphic card i5 processor < this spec MBP
and was wondering whether any of you are having a freezing of softwares (or even the os) problems ?
I found mine quite annoying when my VLC keeps freezing and had to quit and reopen it.
Is it VLC prob or MBP prob? <<if yes any solutions? will be very greatful

btw, is there any relation between the lagging of comp with the specs?

My problem right now is, when i connect my macbook to my hp external monitor wake the computer up in closed lid mode, my internet connection is lost, and it doesn't come back unless i restart my computer.

I'm using the new airport express.

Please, how can i make it so i can connect my external monitor, use it in closed lid mode, and keep my internet connection
But it work in that scenario with the lid open.

I'm just trying/wondering how to figure out lid closed while can be connected with the wireless connection.

Please welcome me to the family with MBP 13", just bought it last night at machines klcc. Everything was well except one.

Now, i find the transfer rate from my sandisk usb extreme card reader to the mbp was extremely slow. I checked in the system and it register both the card and the card reader as capable of read/write at 480mbps.

for the time being i'm using iphoto to import and for a 13GB raw photo, it took almost 20 mins to finish importing.

everyone, this cannot be the correct transfer rate! please share your feedback. TQ!

Today i ran to Machines to check out problem that im facing with my Macbook pro (mid 2009 model).

The battery cant last for 2 hours (without adapter). I checked with them, the staff said that it was due to bluetooth and airport ON all the time. I was wondering, if I dont on both settings how I could connect to WLAN and use wireless mouse. The staff also proclaimed that, it is normal for my macbook model and even even i off everything, it can only last for 3 -4 hours max.

Other softwares on at the same time: bevy, hyperspace & ichat only.

Anyone facing the same situation? Mind sharing experience on this? Any thoughts?

ojimaru..the external was previously FAT32. just converted to NTFS after figuring out that might be the problem. but the transfer also failed.
