The content in Zhi Zun is not produced locally. Those six Malay channels will have content primarily produced locally.

This doesn't count as RTM did not sustain their HD broadcast.

Again, it's the nature of being a small country.

There is no point in having a second or third satellite provider if there is no way the Malaysian population can sustain it. Look at what happened with the mobile telco boom in the 90s. In the end, the government via Telekom Malaysia had to bail out those non-performing companies. That's why things that Astro does is heavily watched by the government as the monopoly is unavoidable.

You do realize that NGC HD is the only HD channel in the lineup because NGC has not prepped other NGC channels to be in HD in South East Asia, right? Right?

That what I was alluding at. It had started earlier than The Expendables. It may take another year before the Malaysian public is ready for their channels to be less censored.

i have seen latest astro view in english in a mamak restaurant. It's similiar to other tv guide magazine around asia. When you're flipping, many eyeblinking channel ads, 1st is hbo hd, then tlc, then half page mtv and nick ads, and that mtv ads are too scary. I like sept astro view.

Hi all, i m new here. i plan to subscribe astro byond. but i hv a question to ask.
nw i m using d normal astro decoder connect to 2 tv, 1st tv(led tv) connect with rf(antenna) cable, 2nd tv(crt tv) connect with rca cable. So nw my question is can i connect d 1st tv with hdmi cable and d 2nd tv connect with rca for astro byond and both tv can b watch at the same time? have any 1 try this before?

PS: i called astro, and they said cannot.

can, but analog video through RCA will not be in HD

buy HDMI splitter instead and connect all your HDTV to it to enjoy channels in HD resolution

really thanks for ur answer. cos i called astro call center, and they said 100% cannot, if connect both at d same time i cant receive any signal. that y d word they said make me confuse.

do you think the 6 malay hd channel are in family package, mustika or preview?

3 Family (Ria,Prima,Oasis), 2 Mustika (Citra,Warna) and 1 preview (Ceria).

30th Aug US OPen is channel 830 (ASSP HD).. w00t.. another ad hoc channel to ease up the piling program such as F1, La Liga (not yet started) and not to forget BPL.

Believe it or not, ESPN STAR SPORTS signed the legendary, our own Shebby Singh on an exclusive contract to appear on their channel..
yup..Shebby Singh only on ESPN STAR SPORTS..either Astro didnt think he was good enough or astro think they have better guys(which they most CERTAINLY DONT) Shebby wont be appearing on Astro's in-house shows anytime soon..

Spoken to Astro Byond agent today...

I am currently on Astro Max & was informed by the agent that the service will terminate w.e.f. 1/9/10 unless i subscribe to Byond PVR. If i don't then no signal by then.

Is this true? We got the Max Decoder & Astro can terminate our subscription?

maybe this is still a rumours...there is no any official announcement regarding this....and dun 4get, they either we have contract rite, so if this true, it must be official announcement...please dun believe rumours..

30th. ch720 is AXN Beyond HD while ch830 is temp. channel.

funny huh, now ady hav 721 ( AXNHD ) and then its AXN Beyond HD

Other country still have AXN Beyond in SD. On B.yond, it's real HD.

Wow.. sound great. I wonder what malay program astro will put in all 6 new HD channel. Why not just lunch discovery HD first.
Maybe astro need to lunch new satellite next year regarding an increasing of new HD channel.
