The problem here is Assto MUST acknowledge the statement above before we can make a complaint and demand them to explain we need experts to verify our claim cos Assto wld deny if we say the earlier ESPN HD was better then then Spore feed .Experts pls come forward help us take it up with MMC and lets show Assto is cheating on HD, just accusing wont help

The content may be the same but the audio (5.1) and video (1080i) resolution are not. There's a company out there that handles the censorship for HBO and other movie channels. I'm guessing they do it offline but if they do it online, that might explain the one-hour delay.

What is MOST important is that currently, Malaysian cinemas are showing more "stuff" than Astro. No full frontal nudity but definitely more violence and more foul language. I don't understand the discrepancies but Astro can make a case for it, if they want to.

That sounds about right. AEC and Vaanavil should be next. Then Astro will have to deal with the Chinese and Indian channels and asking them for HD feeds.

This is good news because that will push OTA channels (Media Prima and RTM) to change their transmission to HD. This means that everything else down the production line will have to be upgraded.

When Formula 1 was on, did you complain to MMC that it was not a HD feed but an upconvert?

You can complain to Astro that ESPN HD's quality suffers, but you can't claim that they are "cheating on HD" because they are merely re-transmitting the content based on what ESPN is giving them. Just like how some movies on HBO HD is not in HD or in 5.1. What you need to do is demand ESPN to give you the quality as before.

Seeing more and more channels being brought in, i'm not surprised they have started the anamorphic hd transmission style, 1440x1080i at much reduced resolution and bitrate, and the best thing is we cant really notice by just looking at the tv, unless your eyes are really good lol.

as long as the quality is acceptable..its ok for me..

it has been overcomplained... also..no competitors out there could knock astro out... for example unifi iptv... their quality is even suckier.... i think its using a much reduced resolution at lower wmv streaming bitrates... meh! Even the hd channels isnt as good quality as astro's.... a big disappointment indeed

upscaled HD or reduced resolution HD , Assto is here to rule no competitor let it be unifi ,can get close to it ! Assto makes the best rojak in Asia but sells well in Malaysia only !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just look at this intead of NGC Wild HD they are giving NGC WILD SD in 3 languages, who asked for 3 languages, so as I said they make the best 'rojak' !

no idea... your only best bet is to break the encryption to get the digital transmitted audio/video... like what happened to directv... their mtv hd channel, Palladia is at that resolution, around 5-6Mbps average.

Unlike our HD channel, 70% America HD channel is "armed" with DigiCipher® II.

i already subscrip to astro. But until now astro guy never call me yet. now almost 3 weeks already... why so late ?

My friend also have same problem but they're promise will do it at 5 days working. Subscrip on Tuesday but until now no contact. Contact with Astro and they're said all item already taken by contractor and just wait them call. LOL!

Last Saturday my little bro call Astro for subscrip Beyond and they're said either by today or tomorrow they're will coming.

i just call astro. they said they just receive my application form on 21/8/10. Should be install within this week they said. Dammit i already went to the tv shop and subscrip astro since 7/8/2010. i think this tv shop send my application form so late...

Went to watch the Expendables the other day. Got some foul language not censored.

my goodness..the in-house pre-match. halftime, and post match show is getting crappier by the week..i skipped the pre-mtach show for Fulham vs Man U last night coz ESPN had theirs on..and I wanted to skip watching the half naked Jay Menon as it was embarrassing watching her half naked when my parents were also watching the TV..i never changed the channel at half time and fulltime coz busy doing something else while watching..and it sucked like hell..Jason Dasey the host..im sorry..during world cup he could have been accepted..but comparing his work to those at ESPN on a weekly basis, its weak to say the least..

n dont get me started on the 'PANEL OF EXPERTS' astro hires to their shows..apart from Scott Ollerenshaw, the others are totally woeful..they make Shebby Singh look like an absolute Legend in the field of analysing..poor2 effort from Astro in-house so far..
