Nice explanantion for 2rax FE

yup. maybe 3 rax is a slower FE compare to those standard FE time. but with 3 rax I can actually marine rush if the rush distance is short (sometime is successful). If I'm not able to take the game I will just drag my marine out and patrol in front of him while my 2nd CC is almost completed. Naturally he will choose to build static defense and build more army. until the time he realize I'm actually macro up, he will be usually economically wise behind me by a great deal. I can just use medivacs (since I got the economically advantages) to skip through the heavy guarded ram and GG him

from your explanation, its more like the.....contain and expand tactic, its a safe way to play, like those casters mention, expand when you push. im imagining now u basically expand at 38-40ish supplies with 15 infantries containing him...

u can actually continue to do this strat until you find it not working anymore. from my wild guess, ways to refine it.

-pull 3 scv and build bunker turrents as contain, best position should be out of his ramp shooting range and close enuf to make sure he doesnt expand at his nat. *while u are expanding* so now its 2 base v 1.

most of the time a toss who knows whats up will tech up to collosus and break ur contain when terma lenses are completed so always follow up with a reactored starport right after CC up and pump vikings before its too late =) marauders do pretty well against collosus too if they get in range.

they cant fund high templar with only 1 base so its still ok but if they get HT, its pretty much over adi....unless u get enuf ghosts and micro them correctly.

another possibility is warpgate/proxy pylon backstab ur vulnerable base, put 2-3 rines at strategic fly paths to spot warp gates...for proxy pylons.......scout more =) theres no strategy with 0 weaknesses.

how bout zerg? any opinion.

I know this build wont work with TvT. Terrans will just siege tank in front of you with viking on top

im still learning tvz too, although theres alot of good builds in team liquid but still havent found 1 that suites me....

u can try raven marine build which emphasizes in massing marines to trade gas army from zerg and eventually make zerg gas starved.

4OC on 2 base build, (exploit mules that doesnt mineral harvesting stack with SCV, having 2 base with 4OC can get mineral as fast as a 3.5 base zerg) spam hellion and marines.

1-1-1 hellion harrass into banshee harrass into 100 food big push

maybe theres some forumers here very comfortable in tvz can share protips. especially on terran unfavored maps....

4OC, interesting idea. but a few baneling can kill whole troops of marine. Will it be a fair trade? Hard to say... come downs to micro and luck

Do you think straight 2 base mecha play will be good? just have to scout often to make sure is not zergling + f**king baneling or roaches rush.

I had had some success with few thor in front + marine n marauder again baneling. But im just a lowly bronze so just disregard me sweat.gif

I'm just a gold too... no league discrimination here. But Thor + marine + marauder seems very hard when muta come to your mineral line like going IKEA shopping. Not enough resources to do that in a short time.

marines i guess...
marines protect tanks, tanks protect marines...
when u feel his muta count growing, get some thors (which u would naturally to get +1 for tanks to 1shot upgraded blings)

i really less prob vs zerg, 1stly u need to know what straight he is going by sending 1st scv scout. either 14 fe, early gas, or standard build. then get the counter unit

roti, wanna asked wut u think would be the best for a late game vs zerg as i find their ability to tech switch between BL and ultra hard as to beat as a terran...

oh sorry evo, cant help, my game mostly end < 15minutes, the most also goes to mid game. don let zerg survive until late game, if not they surely get tons of army. hehe

stress him, with 3 marines 1 scv, if he goes mass zergling, go for banshee harass, hit and run, don research cloak, at the meantime, go for thor. heheheheh
