All previous batch are AMOLED. Only latest batches are said to come with SLCD but not sure whether they are in Malaysia yet.

Maxis might be different case I guess as they are the sole distributor from starting and HTC probably give the priority to them.

Mine is AMOLED. Finding whole Penang and got it 2 weeks back laugh.gif

btw, I feel Froyo has fix the pink issue on AMOLED screen. Any feedback from you all ? smile.gif

once having a phone like desire regardless amoled or slcd, u should be happy smile.gif .. its not like the difference between the amoled and the super amoled. Just take it positive, as long as ur holding an awesome phone tongue.gif

They will of course as Samsung can't even support HTC's demand for it. Of course the next batch will be SLCD, no doubt.

They dont just supply to HTC. Its said to be shortage for all 3.7" AMOLED to all brands that are using them smile.gif Well, dont worry about SLCD. Recent comparison does show they dont differ so much. Both have pros and cons. Only thing still unproven to me was the fact that SLCD is more battery saving compared to AMOLED. Still no concrete news on how much the "battery saving" is actually.

SLCD and AMOLED don't make much different. If I put it side by side without telling you which is which, I can say you won't even recognize smile.gif

Again, i suggest don't make a judgement first before looking at the SLCD. I personally doubt you will even notice the difference directly, as from the video comparisons available so far, they are almost on par.

Samsung makes AMOLED, restricted units to HTC because obviously they don't want HTC to overtake their sales.

As long as you don't put your amoled next to the super amoled, then you'll be fine. There ARE differences, obvious differences especially under the sun. They don't call it "super" for no reason.

I personally still believe since AMOLED from Samsung conquers the market, and most of the AMOLED screens are from them, production would suffer somehow. And besides, i doubt its even the sales that are preventing them from giving it to HTC. They do have the Super AMOLED which is better tongue.gif

my housemate has a Samsung Galaxy S compare to my HTC Desire...
my god the screen is absolutely gorgeous and his is 4" inch screen size.... damn

yup, I mean it's not THAT bad it's not like you cannot see anything at all. But I don't want to go adjusting my brightness everytime I go under the sun.

I haven't try the auto adjust feature yet... I prefer to do things manually... even when i root my phone i don use custom ROMs instead I customize mine myself manually... it's juz the way i like it... tongue.gif

anyway... I'm trying this method to downgrade my Hboot... hmm.gif

I dam lazy to install custom ROMS now, cause got problems here n there. After about a week on LeeDroid, I wiped and flashed stock froyo root (0.80 hboot) and have never been happier because everything works (except for A2SD/A2SD+)! Then I just flashed different update.zip to change the looks.
