Owh, new desire owner here...

no harm rooting ur phone, it's easy to do it now btw. u dont need to be afraid that u cant flash the official froyo rom which is coming up soon, coz u still can flash the rooted version of original(official) froyo rom later on that enhances the features of ur phone.

Have to wait patiently for Froyo to become available in Asia. Even Samsung announce Froyo update for SGS in Sept (in UK).

sure. been using it for 2 days in a row now, and didnt see any dust sticking to it. just let u know my place is full and easy to dust, my own laptop suffer from it. wipe it and it'll come again in an hour but that doesnt happen on my phone and the case. btw i even try putting my phone on the dust, no sign of dust sticking to it.


yay i'm new too...and i need a good player to be used with laucher pro...the current one only works with sense...i mean the full music player.

yeah when i read the old threads, u need much more preparation to root a phone, like i used to when modding my PSP. now everything is so easy with unrevoked! hope the rooted version of froyo is stable and the best!

Under > Check for Rom updates- it says: your rom is not set up to recieve OTA updates..

is this mean that i cant update upcoming Froyo by OTA ? can i fix this??

All the widgets available are in the market. And yes, there is widgets for non rooted phone.

warranty will be void once rooted,
however you can unroot it back when you send your phone for warranty.

I just got myself a 32GB memory card. problem is, after i transferred some pics into my phone and when i try to view them on my phone, the pictures i transferred is shown as a grey square with an exclamation mark on it. has anyone encountered such problems? is there a proper way to transfer pictures into the Desire?

cant be done. HTC apps and widgets only works when HTC sense is used. Which widgets ur needing btw? there r a few number of alternatives out there, but u need to purchase it such as launcherpro plus

I m using "ahem" ver. I nid the clock, music player and also the calender widgets. What should i search in the market for widgets? Juz search for widgets? Sorry for all this n00b ques

- clock + weather = fancy widgets (no longer available in market nor paid it refrigerated HTC's design n was reported)
- calendar = pure calendar widget
- music widget im not sure.. but im using tunewiki for music playing + internet radio + lyrics.. tunewiki is 100% free
