Hi nandayryu,

For hardidsk, you can choose the one that you think most reliable. And as for the size and format, you can refer to below link.

My RT-N66U wifi always shorted out from time to time. When it happens, hard reset has to be done. But last night, despite doing hard reset, neither of the 2.4G and 5G is active (LED not lit) despite already setup in the config page.

Have already tried re-flashing with lasted f/w, the wifi on this device just not working. Left with LAN access only.

Hi Harddisk,

With the latest firmware and factory reset also unable to solve your problem, it might be because the WiFi is faulty already.

Thank you

I hope this is the right thread to ask this since it is for the N-series of Asus routers.

I am planning to buy a RT-N18U soon. I don't need a more expensive one with AC wifi since my devices are mostly connected via LAN, for which I need the Gigabit ports.

What I want to know is whether I can use the built in EZ Print Sharing feature to connect my existing multifunction printer via the USB port and get BOTH printing and scanning functionality across my network.

I know the built-in printer sharing capabilities of routers, regardless of brand, usually work for printing, but a lot usually have problems with the scanning function.

I know there's a list of printers on the Asus website that show the models that have been tested and found to be compatible, but mine isn't there.

How likely is mine going to work with the RT-N18U, if I were to buy one?

Hi tritonite,

May I know what is your printer model? I will need to check with my RD whether it support both printing and scanning.

Thank you

It's a Canon MG3170.

However, I may purchase a newer and better MFP soon for my home office, so if there's a master list I can find somewhere to check for compatibility with the EZ Print Sharing facility in ASUS routers, please let me know so I can maybe look it up before buying.

Thanks.

I'm using RT-N66U at the moment, any specific setting in this router can cause low download speed.

FYI, I had turn off QoS.

Speedtest result for download never exceed 10mbps while upload is more than 10mbps. Ping = 11ms

Hi,

I just setup RT-N66U yesterday but the wifi coverage are same like the Unifi Huawei router?
My place is just 1200sqft and the signal is very low.
Router is at 1 end and room is at the other end.

Hi tritonite,

I have email to my HQ to ask regarding this model and waiting their reply, and as for the list of supported printer, you can have a look at below link.

Why not place in the middle of your house. Where it will have the best coverage

Hi audiocool,

May I know what is your Internet Package?

Let said it is 10MB, it is normal that you cannot exceed 10MB. And how much that you get for uploading?

Thank you
