Why not place in the middle of your house. Where it will have the best coverage
*
Becoz wiring will be messy lol.
And i will have to mount it on wall or ceiling.

Now its placed together with BTU, Hypptv, dect phone, everything at TV area.

Anyway, my point is, isnt it the signal should be stronger than the cheapo unifi router?
Isnt that is 1 of the strong selling point?
If i knew, i wouldnt have change it and just relocate the huawei router.

Hi audiocool,

May I know what is your Internet Package?

Let said it is 10MB, it is normal that you cannot exceed 10MB. And how much that you get for uploading?

Thank you
*
I'm from Penang and ping to the nearest station.

Package: VIP10

Download: 9.61 - 9.7mbps
Upload: 10 -13 mbps
ping response: 11ms

I saw others user can get more than 10mbps for download with less ping response time..
Not sure any settings can improve this or it is rely on the cabling

Hi WaCKy,

The RT-N66U coverage range is over 330m². I take 330m² as an example, which is around 3552ft².

The radius for 3552ft² is around 34ft with no obstacle and full bar.

If your room are too far away from the router and there is obstacle, the signal will be dropped.

In the meantime, you can try updating the firmware to the latest and try fixing a channel at the ASUS router.

Thank you

wifi signal may be dropped due to your house layout and the stuff in between you and router. if you are connect your pc with wifi. maybe can use powerline lan cable.

Hi Sifus,

I need some help/recommendation here! Currently, I'm using Maxis fibre 10Mbps package. The technicolour router provided by them is a pure joke. Wireless disconnection everyday and takes like few hours to to enable again. I kinda fed up with that piece of junk and I need some recommendation here!

Requirement:

Able to support up to 7 wireless connections
Good coverage
2.4ghz band is enough.

Thank you!

Hi EdwinCodec,

RT-N56U is a Dual Band router, the coverage area for these models is over 330m²(line of sigh with good signal).

I am not sure how big is your bungalow, so I unable to tell you which one can cover your whole house.

I can provide you information which ASUS router provide best coverage area. Router with AC WiFi standard provide better coverage compare to N WiFi.

And all our router not able to support Maxis ASTRO IPTV yet.

Over 400m²
RT-AC66U
RT-AC68U
RT-AC3200

Over 450m²
RT-AC87U

Thank you

you only can connect either one.. 2.4ghz or 5 ghz. not both at the same time.

router offer both simultaneous . is it can transmit and receive 2.4ghz and 5ghz band at the same time..

PC / phone cant do that. PC/ phones can only connect to either one . not both at the same time.

I turned on AiDisk feature and tried to copy out files via ftp to my laptop but it takes about 10 mins for 1gb file.
Is that normal?
Also, im using a 16gb thumb drive but i checked the disk status it only has about 9gb free space, in other words about 6gb taken up by the system?
