RM30 commitment if you use for voice calls is still way cheaper than DiGi's SmartPlan or DG30
With only 9cents/min, they make a good voice package plan even at RM30.

What say?

I don't use 30 bucks a month.
And I only need mobile broadband as emergency backup.
I prefer our existing celco's extended validity options.

Can see the problem there.. If you finish your credit, cannot go online and reload... Just like old dialup...

I think if finish credit you can go online but only view reload page.

Based on what I've seen while poking around their domains, I wouldn't trust YTL with any credit card information. Their website is so ridiculously unsecure. Full of holes everywhere, I won't reveal what I found but any decent hacker will crack this site like a telur separuh masak.

Quoting what I said on Thursday. Looks like I was right.

Getting sabo from other telcos?

I doubt it. More like their IT team is weak.

The feeling I have about the incident (last night - knowing their plan and failure on their website) is exactly the same I had after watching the movie SKYLINE.

hmmm...use for voice?

99% of the available mobile phones in msia not compatible.

not many phones to choose from either in the near future vs hundreds of different phones for all tastes and needs @ 3g phones

coverage...65%? really? i looked at the coverage map...just klang valley + n-s highway...thats it...65%? whatever...

you know when that person came here months ago announcing yes is coming yes is coming, we wont be disappointed etc etc...

for 3gb usage...yes4g - $67.5 (after rebate) vs $68 for maxis, digi, celcom (Source)

50 cents savings? wtf? correct me if im wrong...for maxis, digi and celcom, we are still able to use the services ie get on the net but at a slower speed right once we go over 3gb usage? instead of being totally cut off from the service on yes?

new tech but only good for the old gen who hardly use the net imo...

Why couldn't I connect to yes.my? I tried for like few times and I still couldn't connect. I went to downforeveryoneorjustme.com and it seems their website is up.

Could it be that the server in msia is down while others outside msia is accessible?

see this line quoted from business times
However, the company was reluctant to commit on any specific figure when asked on the minimum speed of the service.

"Because of various factors, it's hard to guarantee on speed. If it's super crowded, it will (still) degrade ... but we will stand behind our promise to deliver three to five times faster the speed you currently have on 3G," said Wing.

He also gave the assurance that he has a team of people monitoring the stations and would allocate extra capacity when necessary.

Yes4G is for :-

1. Backup Internet
2. If you wanna cut down calls
3. If you just wanna check and tweet how great the world is and upload couple of photos

Yes4G is not for :-
1. Kaki torrent
2. Heavy youtube user - every day stream 20 videos
3. porn lover
4. Gamer

Its simple as that

Narrow viewpoint.
You only focus on normal household use of broadband, what about the broadband usage from companies, businesses? They need to online all the time and download and upload a lot of data.
For them YES4G is definitely not a choice.

One sentence - YES4G is NOT for heavy and serious users.
Its market can only be those light users or a handful of those financially rich individuals.

based on yes's prices and coverage areas, they are not able to compete with streamyx, maxis bb and celcom bb yet.

Wonder whether for EPP (Uni student) with 300mb free per month needs to commit to RM30/month minimun usage or not.
