The game is also so confusing and not much of tutorial and so on explaining a lot of things properly. I now only notice rumors can sometime become side quest or optional or main plot. Also, the rumors why sometime just disappear?

This game also discourage exploration, i explore the whole map and everything, then a few other quest being on the same map again, making me frustrated cause i killed all the random mobs.

and every new quest to the same place with same texture and feel and everything, i just can only keep running to the quest location. really boring. Ended the fun part of key RPG element which is exploring.

I agree. Exploration is none existent and they even barred you from exploring i.e. the numerous locked door. I once read an interesting comment by a game developer (possibly Bioware) that it's actually a bad game design practice to have inaccessible doors. DA2 has this in abundance, even in those caves/tunnels. That's just shocking from an experienced and leading game developer. Why have doors if you're not even allowed to access it? It just feels that the game had been rushed and they were trying to minimize as much content as possible.

And at last my predictions are true, DA2 is crap. I said it before launch just by playing the demo. They killed the franchise by making it into a rip off version of devil may cry. Only this game is much worse. But thanks to you guys for confirming this, im not getting this game until a major discount sets in on steam in maybe 6 months. If there is nothing to look forward to, then this game does not deserve full price.

Two Worlds 2 is better then DA2. rolleyes.gif

Really? Two Worlds 2? Come on.. You guys are over exaggerating. What's this amazon ratings? DA2 is a flawed game. In many ways a step back. BUT they tried something new. It may not be what I would like but it's a good game on its own merits. Don't believe the extremely positive reviews and and the extremely negative reviews. They are full of hyperbole.

I tend to believe on what players themselves say. If the whole internet say something awful about it, i think thats true. On the other hand, reviews are completely untrustable anyway.

The screenshots and videos just tell me more than i shouldnt even think about getting this.

The demo is pretty fun, but it doesnt feel like DA at all.

People are easily manipulated. By the media by their government and by hysteria. It's easy to say game X sucks or is crap than to actually post about what is flawed about it and have a constructive discussion about it. People are just as susceptible to hyperbolic rants. Just read other forums. Gametrailers... And those aren't the 'whole' internet.

mass effect with sword. its fun, but, its not what i wanted to play in a dragon age game.

also, it feels kinda short and shallow. dragon age lite or an expansion.

Im not talking about just gametrailers, as there is quite a long flame war on there. There are other sites like Metacritic, Bioware social network and even low yat. Have you seen anyone saying DA2 is as good as ME2 to ME1? No one like it, as it's so streamlined and dumb down. Everyone wants a Baldur's Gate sequel, not a dumbed down, shorted game.

Even just by reading what is written here is more than enough. It is not a DA:O successor.

That picture of that horribly modelled elf still haunt me, and it just tell me that Bioware did not put enough effort in making the game shine. Instead just pushed out the door quickly to meet release date. Im still very surprised that it is a Bioware game, as they dont make rubbish like this.

I do hope that DA2's quality is compromised because they need more manpower for ME3 to be the best shooter RPG ever. Not because they rush it out just to make a quick bucks.

If people say it's not as good as ME2 != they hate it. Look DA2 is not their best game. Without a doubt. And I'm not really expecting anything constructive from you because you haven't played the game. But I'd much prefer if this thread focused on DA2. And not this game SUCCKS! or is CRAP! that's very constructive(not).

Maybe I should just continue working on my review than to expect constructive discussions in a forum.

yes I agree. The camera is atrocious. But stop playing it like DAO. Not going to elaborate much but the camera is a major obstacle for you if you want to play it like DAO.

1) it doesn't zoom out like DAO
2) You have to manually move the camera around many times. If you character is up against a wall it gets f'ed up
3) They want you to play in third person perspective and run around the battlefield. The camera is just not made for top down tactical battles.

Well, no point for me to buy a garbage rushed game, as they didnt even fixed the problems with the demo. The atrocious camera still in the game and the graphics still look worse, than DA1. It's clearly a rushed game, and even Inon Zur confirmed that. What disappoint me the most is the complains with the same copy and paste environments in DA2, which made my decision for me on not buying this. A lot of gamers complained this problem in ME1, and it is fixed in ME2 and DA:O, while for some reason, it's back in DA2. I rather have less quests, than 50 quests that set in the same bland dungeon.

Is there any reason to buy a game that will sit on the shelf with 3 hours playtime? Lets hope KOTOR and ME3 dont turn out like this.

Im not gonna post any more, because some people enjoys putting words in my mouth.

I dont have much time to play all the games now, which made me more critical with game's quality so that i only get the absolute best game i can get. If it's rubbish, i wont get it at all.

Here's what I felt about DA2:

+ Nice refreshing plot direction to explore causality. A cookie-cutter plot (aka DA1) normally makes you a drive-by victim of the game's overarching conflict, spurring you to end it. This one makes your actions the root of the problem, without absolving you of blame (e.g. Planescape).

+ Improved combat. You can script your teammates nicely and play it like an action game (well in normal difficulty anyways). The combat effects are more visceral and meaty for melee types.

+ Removed top-down. When you play the game using top-down, you really miss a lot of the graphics.

- Too few environments. Also Bioware put too much content in the the city, until it felt repetitive doing many plot points in the same zone.

- Trivialized dragon fight. So you get a random high dragon in an unassuming side quest, with bad loot to boot, how epic is that sleep.gif

- An overarching main plot/villain would still be nice. Despite the causality twist, it still feels like you're playing 3 different unrelated stories.

- Hard to target enemies due to enemy hitbox and wonky camera.

- Feels rushed and under-baked, Bobby Kotick would be proud

- Dull Teammates. Nothing compared to the holy trinity of Alistair, Morrigan and Zhevran.

i really haz to get used to it cos i loved to zoom out in DAO... unsure.gif

Contrary to some who say character redesigns are crap, i love the new designs, but characters are not as memorable as in DAO.

Really miss picking locks too lolol sweat.gif

Right on, we don't need reviews or anything besides common sense to tell us that this game is rubbish. Bland storyline with non of the originals charm, Corridor path tracks, bad textures, bad camera, rip off devil may cry combat and effects, etc.

And yes, Two Worlds 2 is a good game, massive content, free world exploration, Solid Rpg elements, etc. Its not the best looking game around but it definately beats DA2 in the term "RPG". Hell, even Magicka is more bang for your buck. Shame on your Bioware.

You know, what i am gonna do is: Buy Witcher 2 on release. It has probably won in terms of role playing and story than all other RPGs in 2011. Just hope it's not as buggy as the first one, which also worries me a lot.

DA2, i'll wait for Ultimate Edition, as i know Bioware will try to cramp it with more DLC again.
