Disappointing sequel. This one feels way too linear, restrictive and dumbed down. The combat mechanic is .. well different, but other than that, it's a massive downgrade from the DAO. Same recycled music, less customization, far more restrictive gameplay and underwhelming in scope. I'm just so appalled. They better not mess up ME3.

The game is also so confusing and not much of tutorial and so on explaining a lot of things properly. I now only notice rumors can sometime become side quest or optional or main plot. Also, the rumors why sometime just disappear?

This game also discourage exploration, i explore the whole map and everything, then a few other quest being on the same map again, making me frustrated cause i killed all the random mobs.

and every new quest to the same place  with same texture and feel and everything, i just can only keep running to the quest location. really boring. Ended the fun part of key RPG element which is exploring.

I agree. Exploration is none existent and they even barred you from exploring i.e. the numerous locked door. I once read an interesting comment by a game developer (possibly Bioware) that it's actually a bad game design practice to have inaccessible doors. DA2 has this in abundance, even in those caves/tunnels. That's just shocking from an experienced and leading game developer. Why have doors if you're not even allowed to access it? It just feels that the game had been rushed and they were trying to minimize as much content as possible.

mass effect with sword. its fun, but, its not what i wanted to play in a dragon age game.

also, it feels kinda short and shallow. dragon age lite or an expansion.

It's not even at the level of ME2. Some people may not like the wholesome changes in ME2, but it some ways it was a massive improvement. And most importantly, the same story driven of epic proportion was brought forward in ME2. The same can't be said about DA2, did DAO need a new dumb down mechanic ? No. Did it need a new graphic update ? Not really. I think msot of us were even surprised at how soon Bioware decided to release a sequel. You're right, it did feels more like a DLC to me. Take away the graphics update and the dumb down mechanic, and it could've easily sell off as a dlc for DAO. I actually felt that the entire DA2 could've been the back story for Duncan - even the hero looks and talks like Duncan.

The wave of mobs appearing from thin air is due to increased of the action pace i reckon. Stuff die too easily, so they felt the need to have waves of mobs to extend the duration of the combat.

PS: Haha love how Varric caught glimpse of the groping thinking "hmmm sexytimes".
