but wild fire has 384 ram, and hero has only 288 ram. wont that affecting the performance thus less apps can be supported?
RAM plays a part but it's not a big deal since they both still have the same processor.

However lots of applications built with Android Cupcake 1.5 will be filtered by Android Market and will not be shown on the Wildfire. Before Android Donut 1.6, there was only one specification of screen - 320x480, thus lots of applications built with 1.5 do not support 240x320.

The screen quality of the WildFire is QVGA, which is considered a low-density screen which is why it's priced cheaper than the Hero.

perma-root means rooted properly, because before this, the G2, aka Desire Z can't be properly rooted,
every time you reboot the phone it will be unroot back,
so this perma-root simply means it wont be unroot back, as the root state will stay even after you reboot the phone

so even if you "perma" root the phone, it can still be unroot back by flashing it back to default state.

btw, booting custom ROM is a normal thing for rooted device tongue.gif
that's one of the many reasons why people want to root their phone, custom ROMs.

Rooting is something that gives you power to control your phone fully. Without rooting, the things you can do with your phones are limited. Once you rooted, you can cuztomize your wallpaper, install ahem apps and much more. It will void your warranty IF you send the rooted phone to claim warranty BUT you are able to unroot it. After you unroot it, just send them to claim warranty and they won't notice a thing.

Get the meaning yourself tongue.gif
not to say animation wallpaper, cause that case is froyo edi..live wallpaper. Wildfire can't really support (or else lag) it. I just bought my wildfire black for rm1100 yesterday night at lyp. Let me get used to it then i will root biggrin.gif

smile.gif Not many choice for android below RM900
CSL MI300 around RM8xx
SE X8 around RM7xx
Huawei Ideos 8150 around RM6xx
SE X10mini RM7xx
SE X10mini pro RM9xx
Samsung Galaxy 5 RM6xx

These low end model are small in screen size, its not so suitable for frequent typing, IMHO only

milestone xt720 is sort of mid range, while galaxy S and Desire are supposed to be high end android devices..

about touch screen, the best is SGS with its real multitouch (up to 5 touch points enabled).. since uve tested it before, u should understand..
I can say that with custom roms and lagfixes, Galaxy S is clearly without a doubt the best fone amongst the 3.. however, if u dun wanna root ur fone and install custom roms, then the desire is better in a sense that it is not as laggy as the galaxy S without any tweaks.. xt720 is also a decent fone, and if 'khalpowers' is here, he will surely push u to get the xt720..

gaming is best on SGS followed by xt720 and then desire..
Best screen is SGS
Biggest RAM is Desire
Biggest internal storage is SGS, followed by xt720 and then desire being the smallest
Best GPS between SGS and Desire, is Desire (not sure abt xt720, that one must ask khalpowers)

If u wanna save money, u can get the xt720, but since ur budget is 2k, i say get either the desire or the SGS, but if u get the SGS, u shud install custom rom and lagfix to have the best experience u can get from the fone..

Best out of box experience is surely Desire. But with tweaks, best would be SGS.

xt720 as according to khalpowers is a really good fone.. But if ur looking to install custom roms, dont go for the xt720 coz apparently it has a locked or encrypted bootloader.. Xt720 is still a pretty good fone without the ability to install custom roms, But personally i would say that if u want to get a motorola, wait for the milestone 2.

Bottom line is, with your budget, get either the SGS or Desire. Depending on ur wants and needs in a fone.
