went to ask the mexis ppl at GO Mobile Expo yesterday, it seems they dunno when. oh well, they dunno anything at all as well. i plan to buy the samsung galaxy S, but i m still unsure should i buy it only after they update to 2.2, or i get it now and update myself using those custom ROM or something. judging from all the thread i have read, i have no idea wat are they talking about and worry i might screw up the phone.. lol!

Galaxy S froyo for our region is supposed to be out within now and 30th Nov. But i flashed to a custom ROM and i love it! really improves the experience of the fone..

and its not hard, if u follow the instructions to the T, then u shudnt have any problems, but if u dont want to mess around with that, then u can wait for the offical froyo.. but i decided to go ahead and flash to custom rom..

juz make sure that if u get the fone, check whether u can enter into recovery mode by pressing the volume up + Home + Power button. hold all buttons until the screen starts, if u have recovery enabled, then u will be able to see a different screen after the boot up screen. This is pretty important if u wanna flash to custom roms, coz some galaxy S fones have their recovery disabled.

Milestone (AP 1.3k+), HTC Aria (AP 1.3k+), HTC Wildfire (1.1k +-), Samsung Galaxy 5 (700) comes to mind

all should be able to upgrade to 2.2, its just sooner or later.

hmm.gif Galaxy 5 has 186MB free ROM if you have not install any apps yourselve, not 70MB
even with 2.2, the chance of getting multi touch is very low

There isn't much choice left if front facing camera is a must,
only the galaxy s has one, and it cost near 2k even for the cheapest set.

G5 is definitely a good buy for its price, its is better than X8 IMO.
its a good starters for those who want to get a taste of Android.

however if you want to get the full Android experience,
it's better to get one of the high end Android phones.
