do you mean when handover to Celcom ? Then it falls into EDGE, which is about 256k - 512kbps if not mistaken.

i recently bought it at kuching sarawak, which unfortunate no 3g connection here. and i read on some post tat we can leech on celcom's edge data connection if we are outside um 3g network. however i only manage to get gprs connection which is so so slow. correct me if im wrong

i just got my U prepaid to testing at my house and office. Activated yesterday.
Reload RM15 ( with RM5 preloaded ), now is RM20. Then go for RM20 broadband,300MB/month.

Speed at USJ 21, 1.5Mbps
Speed at Desa Sri Puteri ( Desa Petaling ), 11th floor also same average 1.5Mbps
only thing is upload speed slow.
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1257309476.png

thinking to MNP my hotlink to U. Then go for RM28 package, with 500MB/100min/50 sms for my HTC smartphone....
low usage only just good for FB, little web browsing...at least NO EXTRA CHARGE after exceed 500MB, but still can get lower speed....
*
smart move thumbup.gif

and i advice u to topup rm30 cause u will be entitle to 15% reload bonus which is rm4.50 and 90 days validity for voice/sms

My download speed is about the same as yours.Don't know why it has gotten slower than last time.

But the upload and ping rate has reach that of fixed line broadband networks.
Upload speed is already maxed out because the max speed rating for my modem is 384kbps.
So 360kbps / 384kbps does include overheads.

The upload is 7 times faster than yours while ping is half of the usual figure.

My only regret is the download speed. Can't seem to break the 3mbps barrier to prove that it's true 7.2mbps service.

not sure about the mifi setting....anyway you can try to put the sim card to your phone first, then key in 1234, go to phone security sim setting to diable it.
then put into mifi, done. No more sim pin require.

thinking of that before also, but consider just for testing purpose, RM20 until finish it, buang.

I tested many bb from past 2 years. I'm not heavy downloader...

digi bb > start launch average 1Mpbs, then many people use, and until 700kbps capped, i terminated.
digi smart plan > good price, my wife using it. But my usage not that much ( 3GB ) on the phone, got streamyx wifi at home, so not suit to me.

maxis bb > i can say maxis coverage is better, but the speed not stable all the time. Before this, their plan no capped speed, but now new package got speed capped....and hotlink internet mobile very expensive...now using hotlink, want to MNP to U....

celcom bb > i got this becoz my house got streamyx, can apply this add on for RM20/ month only. Many people say celcom suck. But my experience is not that bad. This is good for backup of my streamyx down sometime hit by lightning strike. Wider coverage...

YES 4G > using huddle 2 years contract. My house DL 9Mbps, upload 2Mbps average.... office 3Mbps...UP 600kbps. No coverage at all at some place, eg Genting Highland, Cameron etc...This is good for backup also. But must care of usage....

P1 4G > office using it now. RM139/month. Average 4Mbps, UL 500kbps. P1 antenna just installed up to our office.

Unifi > Planning to install this when i move to my new house on Aug. But now there are no coverage yet.

streamyx > actually thinking to cancel this last year, but i can say it good for everything, like sometimes my little daugher want to watch youtube, online cartoon, i no need to think about the usage limit....i'm lucky also my streamyx no problem on the speed for many years....only sometime kena petir, then breakdown for 2-3 days. Need to call TM to launch faulty report, and TM always get back even return call said that the problem solved. Good service. ( maybe not many people agree this, haha )

not sure why tested 2 places, its about the same speed. Maybe different plan different speed? But their website said U20,U40, U68 is same speed.
U68 no extra charge if exceed FUP. This is thier lastest plan and price. Not like before, U20 got speed capped 384k etc...

Well, i use it for laptop internet surfing purposes. Very nice and cheap for me for light facebooking, lowyating and other light stuff.

However, once speed has been throttled, 0.05Mbps. cry.gif

first, you may try to get a starter pack @ RM8 like me. Suggest you buy direct from U service center, because prepaid sim need to register and activate also.
I bought from 7-11, then have go to Berjaya Times Square to activate, so it just me drive 2 places. Wasting time.

Another method buy online from www.u.com.my
They will send to you.
Last week i went to BTS, the guy said if buy online, no need to go there register again.
I have tested key in and buy online, but failed to choose number...

The new sim card already preloaded RM5. Then reload RM5 minimum from M2U, you can try U10/30 days/100MB broadband. Or RM6/day/500MB.
Remember there is quota . So don't top up too much, if not, after quota it will charge RM0.05/MB.

If the speed ok for you, then just reload to get the package which is suit to you.
U68/5GB is recommended, because no extra charge after exceed quota.
