Lol. Not me.

Added on December 7, 2010, 1:25 pmHad to agreed that throttling to 128kbps was not great. But then again, we hear people doing 60gb per month.

Hmm, typical professional response. I wondered if they will update you on the customer care. By the way, how is the speed now?

CS I dunno. But Level 1 called me. Still teh same

Umobile is not good now.

If it during peak hour, its way below 128kbps

Here the speed current off peak hour

Not recommend them.

Mine after 4am can reach 1Mbps

But they say here no congestion. I also wtf.

I am suspecting they throttling HTTP traffic port 80.

Cos with torrent I hit 1Mbps

I surf youtube forums everything capped at 40kbps constant no more no less. Seems very familiar.

Where you heard from about the people using the 60GB per month?

I though of a new way to cap people for fairer capping policy.
Why not they cap people based on usage level threshold, eg if exceed 5GB then cap from 3.6 to 1, if continue exceed till 8GB then cap it to 512kbps, if continue exceed till 10GB then cap the 128kbps

so those who really exceed by ALOT will be capped the worst while those exceed a little won't suffer too much

second this,
< 5GB - up to 3.6mbps
5GB < x < 10GB up to 1mbps
10GB < x < 20GB 384kbps
20GB < x < ~ 128kbps

if Yes pricing model still like tha, I wondering if U Mobile will implement pay as you go on its HSPA+ service or not
the pricing model will certainly make telco richer

It is no more the best and most areas will only provide you 3.6mbps at most.
With the overheads your best average speed during the most non peak hours will only get you around 2.6mbps.

Fast meh?

I don't mind getting 2.6 to be honest, currently I don't even mind getting around 1.5 which is what I'm getting due to staying at 12 floors and blocked by another block.
most important I think is stable for my gaming needs and hope not to get capped sharply at 5gb

Hello, I just signed up yesterday for the UB68 plan. Speedtest from the UMobile site shows that I'm hitting about 2.0mbps, but regular surfing (and streaming) doesn't seem to hit more than 300-400kbps. Speedtest.net to Singapore is around 500kbps and to San Diego (arbitrarily chosen) gets me about 300kbps. Am I getting the right speeds or should I be expecting more? Seems pretty slow to me. sad.gif

speedtest is a peak/constant download speed.

regular surfing has fluctuating speed, depends on the website's location, # of hops, routing, etc. etc.

you dont get max 2.0mbps whenever you surf websites.

to test the maximum speed, download large file and observe the speed. you can also try download from RS, Hotfile, Megaupload, Megashare too.

Hmmm just got called and I made the following notes:

2 Base Stations: 1 is wmsj (congested)
xxx (Level2 Operation)

So they say they're gonna upgrade the bandwidth backend. Woot. Finally.
