QUOTE(acat @ Jul 28 2010, 01:37 PM) who said so? umobile coverage's very poor at johor area. when there is no coverage, it will switch to Celcom roaming with additional charges. note: switch to Celcom for voice & SMS. not other services. Also, since when got extra charges? same voice rate for all users.im agree with celcom got widest coverage but also suckiest in term of performance. u know what i mean Added on July 28, 2010, 1:49 pmmy speed in peak time at Bukit Perdana ![]() QUOTE(MaGNiFiCo @ Jul 28 2010, 02:30 PM) cause last time someone told me umobile use celcom network. so i make some wild assumption that it has the same coverage too umobile's broadband depends exclusively on its OWN 3G network. that's why coverage is limited.hey nice speed man. celcom kinda worst on peak time. lunch hour and prime time 8-9pm. sigh sakit kepala wor but anyhow it all depends on location the roaming with Celcom network is to save cost. but ultimately, it benefits more to voice/sms users. Added on July 28, 2010, 5:40 pm QUOTE(cruxidex @ Jul 28 2010, 05:20 PM) finally... got capped after 25GB of downloads hehehe in 2weeks share share la its about time... dunno what else to download.. ![]() Added on July 28, 2010, 5:42 pm QUOTE(MaGNiFiCo @ Jul 28 2010, 01:23 PM) anyone use umobile in utm skudai? i thought u mobile coverage is same with celcom broadband frm what i see, coverage is accurate. only in JB, not other places.but sadly its not covered on the map. but anyone here can double confirm speed in skudai? maybe we should keep refreshing the page to see it "grow" This post has been edited by cybpsych: Jul 28 2010, 05:42 PM |

no hidden/extra charges.
umobile offer same rate to all, whether you are in the 3g network or roaming on celcom. so, charges in klang valley == charges in kedah, terengganu, kelantan, pahang, etc. |

QUOTE(tanhks @ Jul 31 2010, 04:23 PM) Umobile broadband Internet uses their own's network but Umobile phone(voice call) uses Celcom's network. correction: Umobile phone(voice call) uses Celcom's network. when outside of their own 3G network. So far Umobile's own mobile network transmission tower only cover Klang Valley->Seremban->Port DIckson and Iphoh city and some part of JohorBahru. That is why Umobile broadband coverage only cove Klang Valley->Seremban->Port DIckson and Iphoh city and some part of JohorBahru only. But Umobile phone(voice call) coverage is able to cover whole Malaysia because it uses Celcom's transmission tower (correct me if i am wrong) e.g. Klang Valley/Seremban/PD/Ipoh/JB = Umobile's own network for Voice, SMS and Broadband anywhere outside of their coverage = roaming on Celcom network but just Voice/SMS *Update: Noticed umobile have been quietly expanding in Johor as well ![]() http://www.u.com.my/broadband-coverage/coverage-map This post has been edited by cybpsych: Jul 31 2010, 05:22 PM |

network expansion takes long time, large sum of money, and other resources.
we've just got to wait till umobile slowly expand. |

port-in oso can.
after port-in, follow the instructions here http://www.u.com.my/u-broadband/getting-started *make sure prepaid credit is enough to purchase the plans. if dont want port-in, get a new prepaid pack and follow same instruction. |

QUOTE(Kyl3 @ Aug 10 2010, 09:27 AM) wireless broadband has many factors involved. any hsdpa modem would do for umobile broadband cuz they only support max 3.6mbps.getting a super modem wont help the speed. it is all about location and traffic (and all other stuffs) |
