QUOTE(Eiraku @ Aug 7 2010, 01:44 AM) It's a problem with your keyboard mapping file, sounds like its mapped for the wrong locale. Check your input settings under settings, make sure US-eng or English US or something like that is selected for locale. Most probably lar. Worse come to worse, you can search how to edit the ~/vndr/rx-51 keyboard mapping file in xterm. Forgot the full path for the file though. But yeah, the N8 IMHO is a different beast altogether. It looks like a great camera phone to me, but a so so computer. The N900 is a great computer, but it honestly sucks as a phone, even as a smartphone. Lol, getting my supposedly irreparable N900 tomorrow, hopefully something still can be done as I NEED microb. Ucweb, Opera Mini and even Opera Mobile just ain't cutting it for computer replacement duties. At least not totally. holy crap......the text setting select "Čeština" as my input setting WTF.... problem solve ....thanks bro should i change back setting to test my seller reputation N8 is a monster at 12MP camera, with 720p recording and playback i can't agree more that N900 is really poor as a phone....

QUOTE(Daniel89 @ Aug 7 2010, 02:04 AM) Hahaha sucks to be a phone nor even smartphone so which mean if get the N900 I still need to stick with my old N73 just in case anything goes wrong with the N900. That's pretty much correct, you know, just in case you burn your motherboard - like idiot me. And keep in mind you need two free hands to effectively use the N900. Single handedly, you WILL do some finger acrobatics and will need some amount of focus. I can actually surf faster while multitasking (as in while doing other things - not OS multitasking, at which the N900 is supreme) with one hand with the E71, but in the end that's not the Internet as it's meant to be at all. In the end, the N900 is best used as it's roots suggest - as an internet tablet. That can also do computer stuff. And also call or message people. SOMETIMES. Kinda like a pocket friendly Ipad. With less apps and a better browser lol.

Its like a computer if you use it as for normal usage and minor OC it will be okay but testing its patience will only make it worse

So, I won't be saying that I pushed it TOO hard really. It's just my bad luck, and it simply died lol.

* On the N8: The N8 is more of a high to mid-range smartphone. It will be launched before the end of Q3. It will be available in the US, and carrier partnerships will be announced at a later date. * On MeeGo: The first MeeGo phone will be announced before the end of the year and will be a "milestone product" for the company. Nokia's done a lot of work on the interface and done away with a lot of the "legacy" of Symbian. * On Android: Nokia has no plans to use Android on its smartphones. End of story. * On tablets / larger phones: The company's made "no decisions" on entering the market. Savander seems to think larger screened smartphones are awkward. * On netbooks: The Booklet 3G was priced a bit high, but they are still in the market. * On 4G: Nokia has no plans to produce WiMax devices, but LTE will be a big focus. http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/06/nokias-...ablets-android/This post has been edited by jloi: Aug 7 2010, 10:22 AM

QUOTE(x132755 @ Aug 7 2010, 11:35 AM) coz new model coming mah... N8 / N9... Dear forumers, if you're given a choice, will u still stick with N900 or seek for N8 instead? I have no interest in Symbian anymore since Android, WinMo, etc.

That choice is not hard to make at all.
For internet ill stick with my n900 for multimedia ill consider N8
Usually if u buy something u do not know or utlize then u will have such dilemma.
Thats why u see those iphone users everytime a newer version come out they keep buying
