I'd agree ;D

Shame Garmin is not developing software actively anymore (for Android for instance - Symbian version is also un-updated for how long edi?)... I actually prefer the pure data and efficient routing of Garmin vs the polish of Papago.

application manager is not able to connect through a proxy. make sure you have a direct connection.

Same, I like garmin and been using for years. Garmin stopped supporting symbian anymore if not mistaken and this is due to piracy which all of us are aware of.

Papago is another good alternative as MFM supports its, but not sure the on going issue are solved (license problem about mapping)

if i'm not mistaken, there's one software to open word doc (maybe access and excel too) but it's not MS word
might be linux's software, text or etc.

Several options to edit Office files on the N900
Paid Native Maemo: Documents To Go (Can edit Word and Excel, only can view Powerpoint)
Free Native Maemo: Abiword (Edit Word docs), Gnumerics (Edit Excel docs), Cannot edit Powerpoint yet.
Free Easy Debian app: Open Office (Yup, full fledged Open Office on your N900, can edit Word using Open Office Writer, Excel using Spreadsheet and Ppt using Impress.) The main prob? It is slow to initialize, as it was running in Easy Debian

Maybe there was some error above, feel free to correct me though icon_rolleyes.gif
