yes...n900 got virtual keyboard...just press the white box (the place where ur words come out when u typing) and virtual keyboard will auto popout...too get all those sign u just press the shift button on virtual keyboard

agree wit u andy, iphone n n900 its not in the same leage, but always ppl will make comparison with iphone...donno y

some chinese input sw will disable virtual keyb after installing....

some themes also screw up virtual keyboard... try switching themes first - back to ori theme.

or you can try this

sudo gainroot

gconf-tool2 -s -t string /apps/osso/inputmethod/default-plugins/finger hildon_western_fkb

it might work, i am not sure.

go to setting(setting handphone)..then in personalization choose text input .and click (give check sign) virtual keyboard..
then save it.
your virtual keyboard should pop out..when you clik on text area

i don't know the other method..maybe someone else can help you..sorry mate 
but FYI don't open your qwerty keyboard when you try to use virtual keyboard

so most of the apps and supports are from http://talk.maemo.org/ only?

ah,  thing is i dun have the chance to play with a unit of n900 now~ so i not sure how this maemo5 is like~
i may not be as geeky like u guys here on this n900~ but i am an engineer graduate~ just that~ i have stop into gadgets for sometime so a bit blur on maemo5~ so i hope i pickup the right mobile device to start picking things up again~

glad to hear that~ thats my purpose of having a secondary mobile device for 3G mobile internet~ phone calls will still be on my n86 on maxis line~
after i read up some review~ the n900 looks good for mobile internet~ but my concern~ how is the n900 future support? flash 10.1? and etc?

Ugh... Still BUSY at work, no time to go NCC or ANYWHERE for that matter.

So far my N900 is being a wonderful... paperweight...

I MISS MAEMO! I never thought I'd say that, but yeah. I need my terminal fix soon or I'll go nuts. Now sliding my dead N900 open and close from time to time to ease the pain.

hows the N900 battery?

the battery not that sucks 1 la....if u can manage ur surfing time and others usage + normal talk time and message...ur battery can last at least nearly 24 hours liao...im always get the phone fully charge before go to work, and still got the battery when i reached home...but of course im not heavy internet user leh...if u use wifi alot any phone oso can drain out battery like hell jor ...
this oso scared me, RIBBON is the main problem for the slide phone =.=, now i always try to fully utilized virtual keyboard rather than sliding the phone to use the physical one =.=

The ribbon technology improve alot di. If u are not rough user keep forcing it then it wont spoil

if tat sim card is for BB, d internet kenot been used by other phone except BB..i guess u need go Digi Center and change d sim

dont think so u can use BB sim on n900 because no one specify n900 support BIS/BES.

N900 only support GPRS, EDGE,3G and 3.5G

so how often did U format ur PC/laptop?

for me , 1 yr ++ then i format,

If this n900 need to be format every couple of months, that so inconvenient i think....

on my iphone i have this special cheats for angry bird lol. The trick is to score with 2 hits.

Iphone4 vs N900

i am using hotlink. Now in karak town heading to kuala pilah. Signal full bar my digi line 1 bar only. in this area i only get 2G network.

love nokia n900 i have like a mini computer anywhere i go.
