Actually would like to wait for DroidX...but they said exclusively in US...

you got the fact wrong.

800x400 for 4" (SGS)
800x400 for 4.3" (DHD)

both should be 800x480. Current Desire also 800x480.

Thanks for correction...
But the key issues not only resolution, the display quality also major concern

800x480 for 3.7" (Desire/N1) --> Amoled/SLCD
800x480 for 4" (SGS) -> Super Amoled
800x480 for 4.3" (DHD) -> TFT ONLY!
960x640 for 3.5" (IP4) -> Retina

hm.. i think 800*400 at 4.3 inches is very sufficient enough..
before increase the resolution, i hope manufacturer improve the battery 1st.

Maybe HTC got secret solution to optimize the battery? At this moment really can't comment too much.

This is no more new tech as SGS already using 45nm processor.

Didn't a GPU will also increase the battery usage too? Doubt the battery life of Desire HD will improve

IMO, android apps doesnt support high resolution screen yet like Galaxy Tab..have a look at Google search widget in Galaxy Tab,it never fit the screen(4 x 4 only)

thats why the tablet for android still early for now...
*
true indeed, the Tegra 2 tablet from Lenovo i guess is not android market supported. Google quoted back saying that the current 2.2 only supports up to 854x480 (not sure actual in droid, droidx but its 8xx X 480). That is why its useless for them to bring out higher res phone for now on android. Soon hopefully will when android supports higher res

They do realize it but do people realize that android does not support high res? Not all for sure. Such higher res android phone cant support current standard apps. Android market support is removed from the Lenovo tablet. That is why people are saying that its useless for now to use that tablet. No market? Not everyone would root, some prefer stock. Out of the box shows the 1st impression.

QSD8255 is an upgrade from QSD8250. Perhaps it will only drain the same power. They wont build something which will drain more. Technology improvements comes in a wide scope. Surely they took note on the power. Even on cortex A9 which is the dual core coming out soon, it will run at 1.2-1.5Ghz above but it has a higher power efficiency. When it uses a lower nanometer chip, it will have less silicone packing, better heat distribution, faster cooling rate and etc. QSD8255 is a slight improvement over QSD8250 so we will see benefits from it surely. Dont worry too much. I guess it wont be get worse compared to HTC Desire's 1ghz snapdragon

U are surely correct about the battery life improvement but it wont be worse.. (i hope too on this.. LOL)

I see that hummingbird is a leap in android phones. It has more codec support and media playback power. When it it bundled up with PowerVR SGX540, it is deadly indeed. The 90million triangle persecond said by them perhaps is true afterall. Its the games which does not come on par yet with the hardware.

Another thing to consider is real usage performance and how apps/games take advantage. Ive said earlier to u that SGS wont be a letdown and will be wont be easily outdated isnt it? Its the games and apps now which is not fully taking advantage of the total ability of the phone. Day by day more dev port over to android iPhone high end games and I bet when some higher end games come out, SGS surely will run it smoothly still thanks to its hardware.

960x640 for 3.5" (IP4) -> Retina
*
800x480 for 3.7" (Desire/N1) --> Amoled/SLCD (252ppi)
800x480 for 4" (SGS) -> Super Amoled (233ppi)
800x480 for 4.3" (DHD) -> TFT LCD (216ppi)
960x640 for 3.5" (IP4) -> Retina IPS LCD (326ppi)

1024x600 for 10.1" (standard netbook) -> TFT LCD (119ppi)
480x320 for 3.5" (IP3GS) -> TFT LCD (163ppi)
800x480 for 3.0" (Sony Ericsson X1) -> TFT LCD (311ppi)

Net books have been using 119ppi and nobody has every complained of seeing the pixels. Iphone 3GS have been using 163ppi, but no body complained about the pixel density, they just complained about the low resolution. Another important factor is screen size. Look at Sony Ericsson X1, a 2 year old phone. It has 310ppi close to the Iphone4's spec, but no body called it Retina Display then, so it wasnt such a big deal. But the small size of the screen was too small for such a high resolution.

Retina is just a marketing word, not a technology. its still using LCD only. The 326ppi advantage is only obvious if you start at the phone very very closely, but at normal usage, its not much difference. I rather take large screen with sufficient DPI cause then can watch movies better and surf websites better too =D.

Its a light sensor they say..

btw guys, the earpiece is designed long.. really? They say that this phone is packed with bigger sound, better quality in bring better media experience. This can be heard from their chief innovation officer in this video at 25:40 onwards : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBkyhKpJ57U

Apparently, i noticed that the Verizon rumored Desire HD dosent have a back speaker, the front earpiece looks like the only place for sound output

Sorta wierd i guess.. i know it might be stupid but is there any chance there r also sound coming out from the earpiece since they say this song bring better media experience.. sweat.gif .. I judged this based on the Verizon's Desire HD only.. lol..

no one can confirm yet that its TFT or SLCD now i guess.. its not stated on the htc site. Some reporting SLCD, some said TFT LCD. Don't believe those mobile sites yet since even on the hands on review vids, it looks like TFT to me. The screen does not look like the SLCD on Desire Z. Or maybe thats a demo unit only but perhaps it really is just LCD afterall.

lets just wait for the phone to be shipped and we can confirm on this thing.. for now, not worth point out to any mobile site as its not official yet from HTC.. even HTC representatives could give out the wrong info too btw..

Actually, the only solid confirmation we have on Desire HD having SLCD is in the HTC's official video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovTgnlASGAg (Desire HD - A Closer Look)

BUT, that video is now private and hidden 0.o! Which means, like the Desire Z video before, there could be wrong information which requires rectification. I just hope that it isnt the SLCD sad.gif.
