Then u must be not expose to a lot more of symbian software lo. N u judge symbian touch only base on 1 5800, tat is very unfair lo. I evev use writing calculator on n97..
I had 3, 2 with Nokia and 1 with SE. The thing is, with the exception of Nokia 7710, the 5800 and M600i just resembled other S60, soft key at the bottom (perhaps limitation of S60). I like S90 UI a lot. I think Nokia dump something good here. Apple iPhone OS also dont have homescreen, just start with menu. S90 is the same way. Easy, simple but not chunky. Im not a fan of customising UI. I hate the confirmation soft key at the bottom of the screen where its hardest to reach with one hand.
Apps, I dont have a lot of fond memory with them. Joikusoft Wifi teethering is nice but usability is not good (A lot of Android 2.2 user brag this function, while I actually kinda hate it. Makes phone rather hot to touch, and eats up battery). Eats up battery like hell, good if you need <60mins of internet (on full charge). I think this particular company called Offscreen makes pretty good S60V5 app but I did not like except for Sticky Note which was fantastic but I cant email them. I end up with XpressNote which saves them in Image folder.
There is just an app which makes the day easier for me, which turns my 5800 into being a smartphone. Kylom MyCalcul. This app is just brilliant. It works a bit like excel but takes it a step further. It support upto 6 variable for the equation, but the best is that you can enter all but one and it will calculate the exact value for that variable that was not entered. Simple but brilliant. Calculator with formulas. I tinker with it for almost a week and found that it can do more instead just the result of one variable. Im still searching for the same thing in Android but I dont think something similar is available. Nokia handwriting calculator? Its rubbish in comparison.
As for games, that world war plane using touch and accelerometer was the best.
The app for using the double LED flash, that was useful too... finding keys in the dark, finding screw or jumper on motherboard, etc.
