QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Aug 8 2010, 03:52 PM) I think those at Nokia HQ are same as you. They also kept thinking that these are just excessive obsession or fanboyism, but a truly good product does not fear comparison. Comparison only highlight your strengths over weaknesses. When you scared of being compared, that's when you lose your competitiveness. Nokia just tried too much, wasting time, money and losing market share all at the same time. They want a piece of everything. For example, Nokia says QT is useful. I like the idea too. If you move from Symbian to Maemo, there is some app you can't live without, QT makes it works and vice versa. Demo after demo, and still a demo. Reason is simple, an impossible task. Had it been possible, Nokia won't be the first to do it. If you have IT background, you will understand why it won't work and reason why Java and Flash work. Added on August 8, 2010, 5:00 pm QUOTE(pirateguy @ Aug 8 2010, 04:09 PM) Maybe. Whilst it's better than Symbian in many ways, does not means it's the best. In terms of usability, iPhone is currently still ahead. IMO. Game is always changing. What's being hit now maybe outdated tomorrow and vice-versa. Nobody cares about video calls, are they? Look at iPhone 4. They are willing to pay for the app alone. M$ already paid the price for not changing. Playing catch-up where they was once untouchable.Nothing last forever, enjoy it while it last. When you scared of being compared, that's when you lose your competitiveness. Please don't compare me with people in Nokia HQ. And we all know Nokia made a mistake in TOUCHSCREEN phone, especially their N97. And their OS just failed in usability (also in touchscreen phone). They lose market share cause rise of Android after iPhone, it's normal in business, but their not a failed giant. And you here bash Nokia, like you know so much.. And hey, Qt is a great idea. They made a demo, and if it work, then there's a possibility. But nothing is perfect in this world. Nokia just tried too much, wasting time, money and losing market share all at the same time. They want a piece of everything. For example, Nokia says QT is useful. I like the idea too. QUOTE(BuFung @ Aug 8 2010, 04:07 PM) Based on wat u said, I think u choose all wrong phone... U should go for a bb... Bb phone hav great kb n it hav the best non touch scrolling. It scrolling r very similar to a notebook's scrol pad. Haha. A BB is too much for me. What I did is routine job, servicing clients, taking their orders. I need a simple calculator but I need the memory function. I need the notepad to take orders and email it back to office instead of writing it down on paper and fax/call back to office. Why do I need BB? I don't need appointment scheduling. I just wait for them or switch to a nearby client before coming back. |

I have both type of phone. Both done good for me now. Happy? I have both as well, not a touch based one, N78. It was brilliant. They both serve me well, happy? LOL..I do not feel the need of protecting anything. Relax. It's just simple discussion. I'm really quite interested, in N8 after viewing those video. Just need something more before I'm sold for it. Not anything special, just the web browser. It will be for my wife. She loves phone camera. We bought a LX3 but it was left untouched. This phone will be good for her. She gets the camera while I get to play the good stuffs on Sunday when going back to in-law resident where it will be boring. I hate that a lot. I also hate the calculator. The best calculator is still the one on M600i, cos it is able to times the value of the result (meaning ^2) and also comes with memory +/-. Even without vibration nor sound, its good.Wee... It ok for me u talk watever here... That statement not I said one bro... Looking forward for meego! I can't seem to get the right calculator for 5800. I can get handwriting software but having to install phyton first. You just have to be a bit geek for it. There are times where my clients asked me how I managed to have all these, and they were totally not the geek type. How would you go explaining those cert, key, signing, things to them? I'm just wondering if Nokia showrooms will allow us to use our own pendrive to test the divx and rmvb thing. I'm so eager to find out whether or not can play smoothly. Best way to kill time on Sunday.

QUOTE(andrekua @ Aug 8 2010, 02:23 PM) SE have problematic joystick after heavy abuse for a year or so, while I never had Samsung before because I find it hard to use. But honestly speaking, how often do yourphone broke or how often do you upgrade them? I haven't had any hardware failure except for battery due to overcharging. yup..use k800i before..joystick not fully function after 5 monthsIt's really a subjective because hardware failure is mostly due to user negligence. My bro bought a Twinhead, and it never broke once in 3 years. It had a Radeon 9700 and the steel based body was so hot to touch but it never broke down. Finally one day it died, well, in my hands when I tried to mod the broken fan myself. People says Acer sucks, yet I have no problem at all. Nearing 3 years, the only failure was the right side speaker because I had them at full volume and they were like 2 to 3 times louder than some other brands at best. Ever since there OTA update, I never really been back to them. |

Me too don't like n8=3gs+extra casing desgin. Some more it's thick by today standard.... Slick wise, nokia have never match other manufacturer... Samsung have so many metal casing + ultra slim design phone long time ago.. Like U600 etc... Very sexy design...
Recently e series like e71 win back a bit on this.... |

QUOTE(pirateguy @ Aug 8 2010, 09:19 PM) I'm more bothered by design of the top and bottom than the thickness. Looks so dated, not very stylish at all, very 'kasar'. today smartphond esp touchscreen phone are all about u have ur screen as dominate the entire phone as possible... that mean u have phone with as big screen as possible but the physical size of the phone as small as possible... by having that 2 extra part.. really........ annoying... |
