Hi. Looking for recommendations. Bought an apartment in Cyberjaya and not planning to have a plaster ceiling.
Can anyone suggest a lighting shop/lighting specialist that can help me from A to Z on lighting, designs, installation and wiring.
Thank you!

Doorbell switch. When u located the switch/yellow wire stumps, then ready to buy a doorbell - buy the 4-wire type (so the switch run on low voltage, not 230V like the dangerous dinosaur 2-wire type)

Got example?

u can see the installation manual the output to the door bell visitor switch is 6V
basically the visitor switch should be using a step down (built in transformer lah) then its safe thumbup.gif

if its only 2 wire meaning
mains live -> doorbell is powered on 230V IN AND OUT-> press on visitor switch at 230V -> complete circuit -> ding dong
which is the old type and sends 230V to the visitor switch
this is dangerous if water leak or anything due to rain...230V thru the visitor rclxub.gif bye.gif

It is top 1 seller because it is cheap, not because is good.

For people who care about LED, they will avoid something too cheap yet with unknown light source (LED bead), not even the brand itself.

Dont focus on the power (W). Not all are created equal.

Planning to renovate my new condo. Thinking of not installing plaster ceiling.

Any recommendations on good and nice light fittings without plaster ceiling?

Anyone here tried using those surface mounted track lighting? Any issues for home use?

Thanks

Hi all - just checking with everyone here:

For newly constructed homes in Malaysia, can I check if light fittings on the ceilings are still using direct live wires or is there an option of 2/3 pin plugs that makes installation easy?

Reason I ask is that I've bought an apartment in Australia a while back and modern ceiling light fittings are of 2 pin plugs which I can plug in myself.

I'm wondering if Malaysia has the same concept as well...

Example:

LIFX Downlight

Any inputs greatly appreciated... Thanks!

hi guys , actually its big different between cheap SIRIM LED light (Price range RM6-8) vs those branded LED light (RM19-28)

as i know LED light will degrade and become less bright over time , as i always change by myself the LED light , i never try those cheap unbrand with SIRIM , is that reliable enough ?

Easiest step is just remove it and let it empty.

Or change to smart led where u can control with WiFi.
Some smart led bulb can control colour brightness thru app

If bedrooms. Consider low Kelvin rating. Higher ones are harsh. Especially at night.

I use 4 x 3000K 6" Philips Meson square downlight for my bedroom. 1 switch controls a pair. I normally just turn on a pair and seldom use both pairs

However, I turned them off completely post 9pm and use auxiliary Ikea Tagarp placed next to my bed. 2 sets of bulb give me selection flexibility for low lumens bulb.

This setup suits my usage pattern and kinda works for me. It may not suits you but I'm just sharing. biggrin.gif

I realize the downlight can't do much so I need some auxiliary lighting.

Downlight with adjustable brightness could work for you though.
