the T5 ballast dont seem to last long.. have one installed for dresser lighting (seldom use) the ballast (casing) also died fast. tube was OK.

Hi, I bought quite a few of the T5 light ballast during tesco cheap sale.. somehow the ballast and tube don't last long for infrequent use at dresser table 
Already second or third change already - although cheap but T8 seem to last longer (judging from carpark T8).

LED strip should be a better idea 

What sort of lighting fixture (chandelier or ceiling light?) To mimic bright ambient lighting like the pictures below assuming I would have to close the windows ? Also, the appropriate colour temperature should be 4000-5000k?

Design would be for a living room with white walls and light wood flooring?
