Doorbell switch. When u located the switch/yellow wire stumps, then ready to buy a doorbell - buy the 4-wire type (so the switch run on low voltage, not 230V like the dangerous dinosaur 2-wire type)

Possible but it's wired as permanently on.. laugh.gif
#smartswitch required (non hacking solution) or u can hack a run vertically downwards for the switch (and extend the live to switch, and from switch output to the wall lamp).

Easiest is to have a wall light with a pull switch, if you don't want to have a doorbell installed

I have the same issue, I have a doorbell point in my new place and we do no need doorbell.
I asked the electrician and he said this can be used as an emergency light in event no electric else I think will need to disconnect and seal it - not sure - furthermore the location of that point is odd to have a wall light there

Why not use it for sensor to alert you for something going on in front of the house?

What sort of lighting fixture (chandelier or ceiling light?) To mimic bright ambient lighting like the pictures below assuming I would have to close the windows ? Also, the appropriate colour temperature should be 4000-5000k?

Design would be for a living room with white walls and light wood flooring?

hi all, would like to ask about recessed eyeball lighting.
i noticed there is the type which are similar to downlights whereby if it gets spoiled, will have to change the entire thing pull out the clip from ceiling, connect wiring, etc.
then there is the 'modular' type where the housing is permanently fixed and only need to change the bulb inside.

so my question is as followed:

1. What do you call the 'modular' type and the 'all in one' type?
2. Is it true that the 'modular' type spoils faster, like 1-2 years, but the all-in-one lasts longer up to 5 years?
3. is it easy to change the bulbs in the modular type or is it restricted to the exact same manufacturer of the housing?
4. any recomendations for brand or model of anti-glare type of recessed eyeball light for living / dining area?

thank you so much for info and advise notworthy.gif

p/s: tried to google but dont know the correct terms to search and not getting the right info

Anyone have recommendations for chandelier store in PJ/Damansara area? Looking to install two classic or pendant type chandeliers in living room. I noticed most chandeliers are not so bright. Probably need 6 to 8 bulbs to be bright enough as a normal 3 bulb light fixture.

Wanna ask, I have an extra LED strip and I would like to put it on shelf of mine that is entirely black. I’m thinking to put it on top of the shelves, so that the LED light is facing upward. I wonder how it looks like. There’s like maybe 0.5-0.8 meters between the top of the shelves and the ceiling.

I did consider putting it at the back but the strip is not long enough to circle around the entire back. Or I can make a tiny square near the top of the shelves at the back?

Any recommendations?
