Sure you can. But if you do that you are only backing up the system apps.

how do you guys back using titanium backup? highclick the apps that you want and backup? or create the update.zip?

i don mean flashing from 1 ROM to another ROM... i mean when an update is available from HTC/Google for ur phone... like let's say I'm on android 2.0 and an update of 2.1 is available and my phone automatically download it... after the installation will my data be gone?

it is always advisable to factory reset after an update (on custom rom, usually u will wipe it 1st considered as formatting too).. and eclair to froyo usually needs a factory reset and it applies to all previous updates too i guess. Perhaps if its not wiped, u might wanna wipe ur phone after the update urself. Sense UI for eclair and froyo might look similar but its actually an update in certain parts especially when HTC said that beta testing needs time since they need to update their apps to work under the new froyo enviroment to feel the boost of froyo. Try to be on the safe side, backup ur apps and data. Mybackup pro could backup android settings but im not sure bout sense UI

if u root ur phone, you can find it in recovery mode. that's the only way to get nandroid.

i found nandroid in the "unrevoked" rooting method in maliqu3's blog...

When I free I will experimenting on editing the system APK files and using the ADB to backup the entire root...

Yes, if you are talking about Titanium Backup or Nandroid, i believe there is NO other choices except to root first.

good, cuz i always love to backup my stuffs, just to be safe. and i'm interested in rooting so thats why = wanna use the paid market actually.

so i guess i'll remove the antivirus la eh.

and btw guys, any recommended/important FREE applications for my 1 day Desire to have? List your top 10 if possible.

and recommended apps in the PAID market worth buying? maybe something that is needed to be there in my phone and i prefer customizing apps too...hihi...like now, whats the diff between launcher pro plus and the free launcher pro?
