QUOTE(cleave @ Jul 30 2010, 03:16 PM) Generally when you're switching ROMs,here's what you should do:- 1) Nandroid backup (in case we screw up or want to revert) 2) TiB backup 3) Flash new ROM 2) TiB restore Now the ROM will have all your apps and data (and market links). ok... another question: can we do a manual back up by pulling all the files from /system?

QUOTE(cleave @ Jul 30 2010, 03:07 PM) Total BS. I know a guy running a class 10 Kingston. No problems at all, though I must say that I dont really see any speed difference with a class 6. Although FroYo supports external location for apps, not all apps support this feature (yet). That's why you have Nandroid restore. That's where Titanium Backup comes in. So, i need to do Nandroid backup, root my phone, install titanium backup and use it?

QUOTE(LuffyPSP @ Jul 30 2010, 05:00 PM) wanna know this too~~ and will the 7 homescreens get resetted back to it original state? in this case assume me using the original ROM, well maybe with rooted device. it is always advisable to factory reset after an update (on custom rom, usually u will wipe it 1st considered as formatting too).. and eclair to froyo usually needs a factory reset and it applies to all previous updates too i guess. Perhaps if its not wiped, u might wanna wipe ur phone after the update urself. Sense UI for eclair and froyo might look similar but its actually an update in certain parts especially when HTC said that beta testing needs time since they need to update their apps to work under the new froyo enviroment to feel the boost of froyo. Try to be on the safe side, backup ur apps and data. Mybackup pro could backup android settings but im not sure bout sense UI This post has been edited by pluginbaby: Jul 30 2010, 05:15 PM

When I free I will experimenting on editing the system APK files and using the ADB to backup the entire root... This post has been edited by t3chn0m4nc3r: Jul 30 2010, 05:28 PM

Doubt there is any virus in android yet. Yes, if you are talking about Titanium Backup or Nandroid, i believe there is NO other choices except to root first.
