Hi I got a question..If I buy AP Desire how do I update it(when froyo release)? Is it the same as buying Ori? Or everytime I update must go back to distributor?

So technically its better to get ap? I was worried if buy ap can't get OTA updates coz phone from overseas

AP cheapest I found at garage sale is rm1830..Ori cheapest 1970..

I was reading through some posts and the FAQ. I read that if I buy ori phone it will not have Market but instead SlideMe or something like that. Is this true?

I don't wish to root my hp bcoz I'm a super noob in these tech stuff and afraid of doing anything wrong..

Yeah..its in the FAQ..If I read correctly must root only then can get Market..They also mention that SlideMe is much more inferior to Market..

I'm not buying from Maxis but plan to get from dealer..Maxis more expensive lol

Edit : Oh wait, stupid me! I read the FAQ is from another website! I check the one in this thread it says SIS sets comes with Market! Sorry for the mistake!

A: Units from some countries such Malaysia, Vietnam are replaced SlideMe market, which is a inferior version the Android market. To get it refer below.

How do I see if my set is Ori or AP(the phone, battery, etc)?

I heard from supplier say he being "honest" for telling it to me that he sell his Ap Desire the battery is Ap "ori" battery..They replace the Ori wan with Ap battery to make money..

I wanna ask, Desire can store how many sms? Is there a limit?

Is the gps on desire free to use? It has internal antenna right?

This applies for google maps only? I thought google maps is already downloaded into the hp itself so its free. Didn't know must still load the map from online.

If I use the sync contacts with Facebook, and Facebook got some people I don't have the contact in my hp, what will happen? will it save those people's picture without number? Or it will only sync with those that the contact number is in my hp?

Ah, I see..Coz I only want to get the pictures of contacts that I already have on my Sim. Scared if I sync with fb my whole contact list will go haywire coz my facebook got a lot of people I don't really know..

Hahaha just now I went digital mall, got I shop the guy tell me that no use get class 6/8 microSD..He say best is class 2-4 only..Also he go on to say if I put a class 6 microSD into the Desire he say confirm your Desire straight gone case cannot use anymore... LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Got 1 simple (stupid?) question.. for like iphone right, if we jailbreak we can get paid apps for free..Is this possible in the Desire? like if we root it or something?
