Concerning Speakers!

I'm getting bad sound quality. Like the screeching, scratchy sound. Happens when volume is up a bit.

It's not loud or anything. I put it at the minimum audible volume (quite high up on the bar) for listening to music, watching videos etc. Lately I noticed a lot of videos (online or offline) and (very few) songs will cause screeching/poor sound.

Speakers broken or what?

Try turning off all the enhancement on the Creative Control Panel. If still exist try uninstalling the IDT Audio Codec via Device Manager & delete file, restart computer windows should install HD Audio Codec, see if problem still persist. If still persist it's probably speaker problem.

Happen on both sides of speaker?

Do not pay attention to sides, and since it doesn't happen 100% of the time I cannot really test it (or I'm just not bothered to).

I will try your suggestion. By "delete file" you mean deleting the driver file or using a delete file option in Device Manager?

Thanks!

If you are not bothered then we cannot help you if you can't even bother to put your ears to the sides & replay the same songs/movies that's giving you the noise.

Yes by deleting you select the check box that says delete software & driver when you uninstall it. If you don't the IDT will be back again after a while. You have to do it in Device Manager just go to sound & select IDT & Uninstall it totally.

You can always reinstall IDT by going to the website & download the latest driver, in my case latest driver still giving me some blip sound.

How's it? Is there a vast difference before and after calibration?

As you see, I need accurate colours since I do editing, and there's less hassle when making prints smile.gif

I was shocked after i calibrated my screen. From a cold tone to warm. Can't get use to it at first but slowly cope with it.

I used the XPS 16 display calibration tool plus this:

http://www.photofriday.com/calibrate.php

Didn't touch the RGB balance as i felt the default is good enough.
