Hi. Just wanna ask. Has anyone notice hangs on their 3GS with OS4? I seem to experience a few hangs on my iPhone after updating to the OS4. Was just using and suddenly it hangs. Had to reset it.

Tried restoring and so on but still happened.

Mine is okay. No hang experience.
Did your upgrade process to iOS 4 a smooth one or you encounter "error" during the process.

Yes I get that a lot. Especially when I'm playing games (Trying to get UltraCore in SpaceMiner! tongue.gif ) and suddenly SMS pops in and it hangs or when I try to launch another apps (Feeds, Safari, iPod, etc). To date, I've resetted about 7 times since upgrading to iOS4.. shocking.gif

I believe it's easier/cheaper for us to buy 4G from Singapore next month when they launch isn't it?

the game that you play is still not compatible with ios 4... that's one of the reason why i downgrade my phone back to ios 3.1.3

and i assume its cheaper/easier for you to go back if the unit is defective or in need of warranty claims? we have yet to know the pricing so its moot point to says its cheaper compared to the Malaysian market right?

Obviously if I can buy from Maxis, I won't have to ask if it's cheaper to buy in Singapore or the UK. At this point in time, only a few countries have the phone so if I want it now and comparing UK and SG, I bet SG would still be a better choice. If you want to compare with Malaysia market then let's talk about this again 4-5 months down the road when our ISP have it. I don't mind paying a bit more to have it now smile.gif

last time i bought iphone 3gs 16gb from maxis without contract which is rm2490 and guess what? i got free airtime for a year and also free 500mb data every month for a year....

maybe im just too lucky i guess.... if im not mistaken 500mb data cost around rm50 permonth right? so for a year (rm50x12 = rm600)
i save around rm600....

so is it expensive or cheap? u be the judge yourselves

You need to understand this is probably given to specific customers only and not everyone. I don't think they can afford to give free airtime/data package for all iPhone buyers even I'm a Maxis customer close to 10 years. Hence, it's pointless to compare something like that. If I say BMW is selling their M5 to me for RM100K because I'm a "special" customer so can I say "Is it expensive or cheap, you judge yourself"? LOL laugh.gif

Let's be a bit more realistic when we do a comparison smile.gif

im a maxis customer for almost 10 years and yes they cant give it all to who ever buy the iphone without contract (that's why they were unavailable for a while) but my point is this:
while whining about the the oversea set is cheaper than the locals u need also to be realistic about the cost and all... well yes maybe u can go to UK every year (for example) and can get the set there for friction of the local price but not all of us are capable of going oversea...

so am i not being realistic here?

I have friends in Maxis One Club too smile.gif
but I preferred to purchase overseas, as when iPhone1,2 launched, it wasn't available factory unlocked for nearly 9 months. during those 9 months, I was quite happy to keep updating my phone, not worried about jailbreaking / unlocking ...

also, local price worldwide seems to be quite close, difference of RM50 each... I got in NZ for RM2485, MY price was RM2490, now new iPhone3,1 is RM24xx too... so I may buy my next one from SG. since I can easily claim warranty, and maybe even get ACPP for my iPhone smile.gif

Guys,

If I update to version 4 iOS, what are the perks for iphone 3GS. I heard about the multitasking thingy, but how does it operates actually. Am I the only one who hasn't upgrade? smile.gif

Reason for waiting: Don't want to be beta tester for new OS.

i bought my iphone 3g with the help from my friend at Australia. it is cheap, i admit that (but i was not really lucky because a month after purchase the AUD went down like crazy....) but when thinking back my friend have to use postal service to send my iphone it makes me kindda nervous... well u know... item can be lost even thou its insured...
like i said, im not defending maxis but i wouldnt say it is that expensive thats all...

but this time around i need to ask my friend help again with the iphone 4 purchase.... i just cant wait that long (thats the problem with buying local... u have to play the waiting game.... ergh!!!)

Please read the first page and you can find your answers easily there. It's not rocket science. smile.gif

Multitasking - It's finally here! Double-tapping the home button will show all the apps you are currently running. This multitasking system is designed for minimum impact on battery life.

Actually my point is I want to buy the iPhone 4G now if possible instead of waiting for Maxis to launch which would be another 3-4 months down the road biggrin.gif It's not about whether Maxis is cheaper or not but trying to find out which country would be the cheapest to get the iPhone 4G from at this point in time.
