QUOTE(nawzi @ Jun 25 2010, 03:53 PM) None of your current simcard compatible with the iPhone 4 either 64k/ 128k. Because the latest iPhone 4 will be use Micro Simcard which if i'm not mistaken Maxis already provided. Btw, please write correctly as iPhone 4 instead of i4, iPhone 4G??? Bro : i wish to correct you. I am using Digi Prepaid ( the 128k) - I cut the original simcard down to size. It works PERFECTLY on my iPAD. Yesterday I was in Singapore and I tested the roaming - works perfectly too. Tested too on Celcom Prepaid card - bought it just to testThis is my answer to several who PM me about how to cut the card : you just need a sharp scissors and a piece of paper First get the size of the card ; put a piece of paper inside the simcard slot - slightly pressed along the edges to get a impression. Cut the paper to have the size. Put paper on top of the simcard and use a pencil to trace the size on the card. What I did I cut first the right handside close to the gold edge. Then I trim the rest - it is alright to trim off slightly the top n bottoms of the gold edges. The important area is the centre part where you see 2 lines This post has been edited by benny888: Jun 25 2010, 10:38 PM |

QUOTE(nawzi @ Jun 25 2010, 11:40 PM) It is the same as Maxis told me ( when I wanted to buy the card ) that the micro-sim launched for the iPAD is EXACTLY same card as for the new iPhone4. I did not take up the Maxis card as they wanted me to pay RM30 each month just for voice calls in addition to the data plan charges. I ask what is the logic in paying RM30 when the iPAD cannot do voice calls ? Then I was told is Maxis standard policy as the same micro-sim will also be used for the new iPhone4Added on June 26, 2010, 12:01 amMore bad news about the iPhone 4 construction : some units were found the volume buttons wrongly switched http://9to5mac.com/node/18548 This post has been edited by benny888: Jun 26 2010, 12:01 AM |

QUOTE(vexus @ Jun 27 2010, 09:25 AM) more and more bad news about iphone4 Yet we see huge lines all over the stores, people queuing up to buy. Market analyst had estimated that Apple will end this week with sales of 2 million units !!! However we can all take comfort that by the time Msia gets its units , all quality issues would have been resolved1) breakable glass 2) reception issue 3) yellow tint residue in touch screen 4) reception issue 5) voice transmission issue 6) upside down volume side button apple QC really bad. i think foxxcon is one of the reason. 1) work like slave, pay cheap & restless result poor quality product. |

QUOTE(xaw5126 @ Jun 29 2010, 04:44 PM) Singapore online store (like Malaysian online store) will only deliver to your billing address ... or if you specify, any other address within the Singapore borders. that also means you will need to use a Singapore credit card I bought my iPOD touch from Spore Apple online store using my MALAYSIAN credit card - no problem. But address of delivery must be a Spore address. That was a year ago , anyway no harm tryingfeel free to try it out, http://store.apple.com/sg This post has been edited by benny888: Jun 29 2010, 06:59 PM |

QUOTE(Masamune @ Jul 6 2010, 10:06 PM) Sorry..i forget to mentioned i've cut my maxis sim card and using it now. Wow - this looks like similar problem face by others since signal bars go down when you hold it. It has nothing to do with your sim ; if the cutting is bad you will not even get any signal. Why don't you follow what others do - use a scotch tape and tape the antannae area to see whether your signal bars improved or buy a casingNo problem on the table just when i hold it. The bars slowly go down one by one till it reaches 1. When i put it back on the table it goes back up to max. |

American Consumer Report do not want to recommend the iPhone 4 just because of its signal issues. Glad to hear so far all Msian users in this forum don't have this problem. |

QUOTE(tadasu @ Jul 13 2010, 11:43 AM) Well, there u go, confirmed by consumer reports in US. I'm surprised that no one in msia is affected. But I'll still hold off getting 1 until it's fixed by apple By the time it hits Malaysia, pretty sure these "hardware" issue would have been rectified. Apple will not admit is hardware issue now - it will trigger a massive recall, imagine 1 million sets already sold! Their proposed software solution fix/patch supposedly to be released 2 weeks ago still no news yetPC World article on iphone 4 CR |

It is very simple. If you still have doubt, sit it out and wait. Those who don't mind this issue and can accept it with say using a bumper or hold it another way just go ahead. There is no point debating. If the answers you are expecting does not satisfy you, don't buy it. You can always get other smart phones.
Frankly the sales is still so good Steve Jobs couln't be bother anymore whether you are happy or not with what Apple had been explaining or what other reviewers are saying. For me now knowing all these issues, I will still buy it because the other features are outstanding too. It is not that you cannot use it to call, anyway Malaysian users so far are positive. I was with them at KLCC and tested it and would just say as a non owner yet, didn't find any signals dropping issues Continued debate on this issue will not improve it if it has a hardware problem. Let's leave it to Apple to resolve whatever thro software or an improvement in the subsequent production Infact , I quote " If you were looking for a message thread on Apple's support forums pointing to Consumer Reports' article 'not recommending' the iPhone 4, it's not there any more. Apple's support forum moderators deleted the thread. " http://www.tuaw.com/2010/07/12/apple-drops...wn-memory-hole/ So simply Apple does not want anyone to discuss anymore it at their forum - call it unprofessional, protective whatever - you get the picture ? QUOTE(beavis68 @ Jul 16 2010, 03:36 PM) hey guys, some one in the forum asking for prove instead of putting in word......(u should know who u r) That is a good deed you have done. Frankly I will not do what you have done. I see no point justifying to those critics. If you read in the forums, there are equally satisfied as well as unhappy users. I was with you guys at the last meet up and I see no issue at all with it. It is a product made in a factory full of labor problems. Those who are not aware just google fox conn and what you see is all labor problems, workers committing suicide n Apple being their main customer was greatly affected. It jut take one worker to do a slipshod work that could lead to serious defects which only emerge later. I seen this daily while I was in manufacturing. One of My ex boss bought a brand new Mercedes S class rm600k n car broke down on highway on day 2. Just an example to show that quality issue will arise even in premium product.have a look. the video is not so clear but enough to proved it. video 1 video 2 so i can say my unit got no such problem. and yes i'm squeezing the antenna until my finger and thumb felt the pain. Members in this forum should respect opinions expressed. If members said they have no issues, respect it. Why the need to prove to you. What benefit do these owners gain by lying to you. I believe most members in this forum are Msians , I feel sad when I continue to read such cynics n critics questioning the authencity of the ip4 owners. They prefer to listen and accept those reported overseas - overseas opinions more value and better meh? This post has been edited by benny888: Jul 16 2010, 08:36 PM |

From starting till end , he is defending and with data showing is not a problem at all. Only o0.55 % call to complain and only 1.7 % wants to return phones. So if any of you chaps fall within these %, just bad luck to you that you have a lemon. Anyway Jobs promise a full refund if you are not happy.
