CODE Most of you iPhone 3G users will have upgraded to the magic new iOS4 which was released recently and found other than the multitasking not being there, Apple left out the ability to change your backgrounds. You're probably wondering why and it also probably doesn't matter because most of you are going to jailbreak your phones anyway. According to Gizmodo, one of their readers emailed Steve Jobs asking why the feature wasn't included for her iPhone 3G: Hey Steve! I just upgraded my iPhone 3G to iOS 4 and was really looking forward to setting a background on my home screen. Guess that's not happening, but I'd like to know why. See, I get why you don't include multitasking. My iPhone gets pretty hot when certain apps run, couldn't imagine how multitasking would fry my phone. But the background thing, I don't see how that would be memory intensive and/or battery draining. It doesn't seem like that feature needs to be exclusive to the 3GS and 4G. I hope this email finds you in good health. Erica Guess what the reply was? The icon animation with backgrounds didn't perform well enough. REALLY APPLE? Icons not moving nicely is the reason you shortchanged the 3G users? Looks like the jailbreaking community is another step ahead of Apple again. Granted, It's no secret that Gizmodo has fallen out of favour with the boys up in Cupertino and perhaps we need to take this with a pinch of salt. But if this email isn't a hoax, I hope there is a better reason other than this one. sos from Lyn.net taken from gizmondo... lolz... |

yup battery performance for iOS4 is kind of great... just the support for iphone 3G is kind of lacking... i had to go back to 3.1.3 version... but quite satisfied with it performance on iphone 3Gs.

the game that you play is still not compatible with ios 4... that's one of the reason why i downgrade my phone back to ios 3.1.3
