But I think the most important thing is to further improve the overall picture quality of Beyond subscribers for the SD channels.
I thought it can be done by switching the encoding engine?
This would definitely help to keep the customers who just bought the HDTV to enjoy better pictures with Beyond. HD and non-HD channels.

All in all, Astro should start the communication plan on what's next after the World Cup fever is over.....

I'll bet this take more costly. hmm.gif

Not if the business is a monopoly. If you don't want to subscribe, there are tons of customers who have no choice. Blame it on XXX...

They bundle the 'nobody wants to watch channel' with the popular channels and call it as a package.

Some packages are logical eg. News, cartoon etc. but why is the Anime in the Variety package when it should be in cartoon ? laugh.gif

We thought TM wld be a threat but we were all wrong TM  cld be a flop, so I dont see any  changes in the near future assto wld rule Malaysia ! Hopefully the politics change and lets dream selangor and penang allow  dishes !   rclxms.gif

TM is a Govt Linked Company and you know what type of staff they hire there. Whenever I called their 'technical' customer service, I vomit blood each time.

They just don't know how to troubleshoot, they all read a list of questions (presumably from their supervisors) like 'robots'.

Err...I dont think lumping Animax together with other cartoon channels is advisable. Some of those "anime" are not exactly for little kids viewing

One word to describe it? Subversive. I'm not sure if you have seen three dimensional progammes by using a 3D apparatus. It works fine for me for a couple of minutes but soon after that it's all fuzzy muzzily for me. The flickering of the "3D spectacles" make it worst. Try using a flashlight and switch it on intermittently on your forehead (flashlight facing downward) and you'll find it annoying.

On the side note:

Question One: The resolution pannad out for Astro B.YOND is maxed at 1080i? How do I change it to 720p? I tried fiddling around with the remote control but to no avail. Anyone? Any idea?

Question Two: For the above question, it's not a matter with the HDMI cable that is included with the Astro B.YOND, right? I thought of changing the default HDMI cable with my Belkin HDMI to HDMI cable just to ensure it does supports up to 1080p. Anyone can enlighten me regarding this matter?

Question Three: I'm not sure if it too much or anything, is there any news with Discover Channel in HD? I'm pretty much stressed out with Nat Geo HD & History HD. It would be good if there's an addition to the Learning Package in HD.

2010 has been a great year for me. Especially the FIFA World Cup which just ended recently. My first World Cup experience in high definition. A few noticeable ad that worth to be mentioned. They changed Frank Lampard and Lionel Messi with Fernando Torres. Hyundai ad were exceptionally louder in term of volume. Anyway, it's memorable for me...

I think I did that. Didn't come out anything...Maybe I've mistaken somewhere in between. I'll give it a try. I believe the 720p will produce much sharper imagery than 1080i. Progressive all the way! Thanks for the tip.

For the HDMI cable, I was worried that the default HDMI that came with the Astro B.YOND decoder doesn't supports up to 1080p. That's makes me came to thinking of switching the HDMI cables.

the limitation is always the tv and astro, not the cable itself.. yes the cable is good enough to support 1080p ( i assume the source will be either your HTPC,Blu-ray player or PS 3)

for the HD setting, go to home, tvsetting or installation.. kinda forget.. but search for the installation word.. from there you'll see .. passcode is default 0000
