QUOTE(PseudomonasSA @ Jun 10 2024, 05:41 AM) https://www.hsbc.com.sg/international/open-an-account/ Looks like HSBC Singapore accepts customers residing overseas. Has anyone successfully applied for HSBC SG account from Malaysia? QUOTE(PseudomonasSA @ Jun 10 2024, 05:43 AM) https://www.hsbc.com.sg/international/open-an-account/ you mean this?I'm curious too. The website suggests that it accepts applications from non residents Applying via HSBC EasyID You'll need: an original identity document — such as your Singapore NRIC, Malaysia MyKad, or your passport proof of your latest address — such as a utility bill, phone bill, government-issued identity documents or bank statements — that clearly indicate your name and Singapore residential address. |

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Jun 10 2024, 08:51 PM) hksgmy only RM200k to gain premier status in M'sia 🤯🤯 Yes, one of the lowest requirements. It’s SGD250,000 in Singapore and AUD200,000 in Australia. I was previously domiciled in Singapore, but seeing how Australia needed a lower figure, I moved it over there and domiciled it in Sydney instead.looks like a viable option for those high roller who want to remit 6 digits ringgit to SG |

DBS priority, aka DBS Treasures, requires only SGD350,000 to open and the same amount needs to be maintained. The $350,000 can be in deposit or investments.
DBS private requires $5m. |

Have an interesting question.
Are non residents able to buy life insurance policies in Singapore? For example, Malaysians working in Malaysia. Singaporean policies offer more protection per equivalent unit of premium paid |

QUOTE(PseudomonasSA @ Jun 13 2024, 06:03 AM) Have an interesting question. Yes can. You will need to travel down and sign the documents. When you file claim may need notary sign. They also have term and whole life. With term being cheaper. You can choose coverage for xyz years or say max 20 years Vs full for life. Of course for life is going to be more expensive. Are non residents able to buy life insurance policies in Singapore? For example, Malaysians working in Malaysia. Singaporean policies offer more protection per equivalent unit of premium paid Also keep in mind premium will be in SGD which means it will be increasing with time if you are paying with RM. Also some company want the cases to be in Singapore itself only. Eg. Some critical life illness insurance need to diagnosed in Singapore hospital. Some accept worldwide on condition it is in English.
