Happy to share that I have successfully opened my OCBC Singapore account with just my IC and Passport.

The process of applying through the app is a bit a pain in the ass, as needs to do several times for the app to accept my IC. Tips, the ic can be slightly outside the rectangle.

Took about 3 working days for the account to be approved. Was given Global Savings Account and Statement Savings Account.

Initial deposit required is just SGD1000, it can be from your Singaporean bank account or Malaysian bank account. I already have Maybank SG account. So this is very seamless.

Despite the T&C showing initial deposit for non-resident Statement Savings Account is SGD20k. I just needed to deposit SGD1k. Not sure if this only applies for Malaysians or what.

Regardless, even if the fall below fee for non-resident Statement Savings Account which is 20k is imposed as per T&C (no fee for first year), don't worry, we can go around this. 

Once you have access to the OCBC SG online banking, you can immediately apply for other accounts like OCBC 360 (minimum balance 3k) or OCBC Frank (minimum balance 1k), Monthly Savings account (minimum balance 500) or other OCBC SG accounts. I prefer OCBC 360. I will close Statement Savings Account after this.

So for all Malaysians residing in Malaysia, with no SG pass whatsoever. Right now we have 3 easy options for SG bank accounts (Maybank, CIMB and OCBC), everything done online, super easy.

I am exploring the banks that allows Malaysians to open an account with them that's fully digital (without requiring the need of visiting the physical branch), i stumbled across RHB Bank Singapore, i've already submitted the documents via the RHB SG app and will wait for any follow ups on the weekdays.

Before Maybank & OCBC Singapore allowed Malaysians to have an account with them (fully digital), i saw that RHB SG kinda allowed a digital experience to open an account, but the roadblock was that you'll need to visit their physical branches to complete the K.Y.C by submitting any form of F.I.N (S-Pass, EP, Student Pass). Since, i have none of those, i abandoned RHB SG, they even sent a follow up email reminding me to visit any of their branches to complete the K.Y.C, but i ignored it and the application has since been cancelled.

*Don't think RHB SG offers any Debit Cards, so pair up with Maybank SG/ OCBC SG or CIMB SG (i think CIMB SG offers Debit cards for $10 SGD), do a FAST transfer to yourself to the accounts with debit cards to get access to cash (OCBC Pay AnyOne app allows cashless withdrawals, no debit card needed) or use PayNow (eWallet) to pay to those who accepts it.

**Will update if RHB SG allows a fully digital experience of account opening, if there are no updates from me, just assume that they need customers to visit their physical branches to complete the K.Y.C by submitting any form of F.I.N (S-Pass, EP, Student Pass)

RHB Bank SG Account Opening Documents Required:

- Malaysian NRIC
- Bank Statement (dated within the last 3 months)
- A photo of your signature (just sign on a piece of white blank paper, the app will have a section for you to take a photo of it and upload)

You WILL NOT receive any confirmation email that your application is pending, but..... the app does give false hopes in a way that it will allow you to create a username and login PIN

*False hopes, don't know why the bank allows you to create an account even though you're just in the midst of having your application processed
