If you are working in Sg, just go open their DBS my account. They have the best multicurrency account that no one can beat on the market.

I also opened the CIMB SG account.

Took me just under a month from start to finish.

Took me about a week to deposit the $1,000 SGD
So 3 weeks from when they received the deposit to account opening.

They also asked for my purpose of account opening.

Unfortunately, iSavvy don't have online statement.

QUOTE(sidefulnes @ Feb 21 2023, 12:05 PM)
Called Maybank SG already, since iSavvy is an online account, the only way is to visit their branch to request for adhoc statement which I recall reading is $30. Oh wells, prolly use 3rd party trading platforms or buy thru Maybank Global Trading account for now.

Won't be travelling to SG anytime soon but prolly I need to gather some funds first. Thanks everyone smile.gif

May I ask, how or where do you get to know that (abt can open sg bank account and stuffs)?
I got it from postings by forummers in the thread that you had linked earlier.
Now a forummer had accused those info from postings by forummers in that thread are 'not true" and "nonsense".
Thus I am eagerly wanting to know who is really talking nonsense.

Nobody knew can open Maybank SG account online until we started talking about it here.. at the time when I did it, there was zero forum posts, websites or blogs about it.. seriously, zero... everyone was recommending CIMB and said Maybank was a paper form and need go branch (as per the site u posted above).

It was only when a friendly RM told me to do it online that I realized it finally launched, long after Maybank announced it back in March 2022 or so... So I did mine online, got my account approved and ready in one day and I put money in on the same day.

Now these kind of info, because it's not available online.. you won't hear some people advising you to do so, like a know it all ... because it seems like what they know is mostly what other people have shared, not own experience..

The problem now is a forumner in another thread mentioned abt "not true" and "nonsense" for he said need to adherd to MAS and Singiass KYC requirements.

As far as I know and last time, Maybank have always been offline (form). Only I think 2-3 years back they started online but was buggy as hell.

Yes. Cimb and Maybank no need singpass. Even DBS also no need singpass. But for DBS need to travel there. Cannot do online.

As long no debt you can move how much you want. If got debt max I think RM1M/year. Could be wrong.
