Okay... So for around 10mins of Crysis gaming on all settings on High at 1600x900, around 80+Celcius.

Could be the person at factory forgot to put enuf thermal paste on the GPU..

Call Dell up about it.. They'd send a technician to change the thermal paste

wanna ask, i'm still new with the laptop. enjoyed it very much. finished Modern Warfare 2 yesterday and it was awesome. look even better then the ps3 version. lol. got some Q though.

1. cant help but notice the battery indicator at the back of the laptop (m11x), the one next to alienware (writen in alien alphabets), is it working/ lights up when disconnected from a power source?

2. does the left side usb port charges phones, etc when the laptop is turned off?

1. It should light up when touched.

2. I don't think USB ports are even on when system is switched off. Unless sleep mode..

yes m11x is possible but this will drain your battery and reduce the lifespan of your battery.

for m15x and m17x i dun think it's good..we dun have enuf battery haha

When I was using the GTX 260M with or without a cooler, taking my room temperature to be about 27celcius, I've never gotten above 92c. When my original GTX Gave a reading of 92c, I knew something wasn't right and I called DELL to come check. They replaced my 260M with a new one and even brought additional thermal pads. After that, playing the same way gave me temperatures not exceeding 78 - 80c. And even with my overclocking, the max it went was 82 - 83c. My suggestion is to call DELL and ask their engineers to come over to check. Touching 100c is too high and might melt some components....
