Price wise seems ok, but the fan error is quite a problem, the computer might not be able to run at a long time....

Hi guys, just need some advice as im stuck between 3 models of laptops...
Asus a42jv, Acer 4820TG, Dell 14R...
purpose is for surfing, movies (720p & above), casual gaming (FIFA, NFS..)..
asus have a good GPU compared to the other two but abit bulky, while Acer is lighter and thinner and battery can last longer compared to the other two while Dell have a better after sales service (currently company laptop is Dell and the service is quite good).. im going to overseas soon (indo) so warranty wise is important aspect im looking at. Hope that there is something of the combined 3 but i don't think so..
btw, just curious, the Asus can get interest free installment? any idea which shop provides?thanks alot

@junkei
My vote goes to Asus A42Jv as you can get 2 years Global warranty by default and less hassle to claim warranty oversea nod.gif...

Unless you can get 14R in a 3 years Complete Cover warranty (by default going International) nod.gif...

Want something light then none can beat 4820TG...

My choice :

A42Jv > 4820TG > 14R

@miahahaha,
thanks for your advice, as u said, 3 have their pros and cons, which makes me headache on which to choose.. if the 4820TG can get ATi5650 in msia then most probably i'll get that.. coz warranty is important then i will also need to consider about weight, coz i need to bring my company's D630 which is bulky and the new laptop..hiez really headache sad.gif

Well, if you not into game much then 4820TG would be nice as it is light nod.gif

Added on July 1, 2010, 12:24 amWell, if you got some friends in SG then maybe can ask them to look for Acer 3820TG (i7 620M + HD5650) but a bit expensive...this surely fit your requirements icon_rolleyes.gif

@jiunkei_46, for indonesia, there's no onsite for Dell, you need to carry it to the center there and the international warranty only covers the parts not labor...

Some said that A42Jv price already hiked up RM3099 sweat.gif..maybe because of the aggressive responses from consumers laugh.gif

RM3~4k is quite a large budget...and when come to games, actually a normal notebook powered by Windows would be nice nod.gif..any size preferences?? nod.gif..

Hardly can find a notebook that can last you 5 years max..maybe max almost 4 years smile.gif

Hi guys.

I need some opinion about Acer 4820TG and Compaq CQ36-100.
Thinking of buying either one for my lil sister to use for her study.

Thanks in advance.
