if Sony F58am at 1.1k is expensive then what about Nikon's SB900 at 1.6k?

Well heizad.. Infact the sony F58 is the cheapest among all brands.. I mean, which flash could give u 58 guide no,180 degrees both ways tilting, strobe effect which a pricing of Rm 1.1k. I know Nikon and Canon has it, around 1.6k and 1.5k respectively while how much is sony? 1.1k ...

If you would opt for a cheaper 1, do consider the F42 , its around Rm 750 for a new, bet you could get 2nd hand around 600++
and guess what,all of sony's flash are wireless capable.

i thought there's a 3rd party one like minolta?

those are old models that had stop production~ and they are not cheap~
just get the Sony F42am for starters~ u wont regret it~

of course it'll be better to go for cobra right if let say i want to make a one-off purchase for a flash?later no need to change anymore..

of coz~ F58am will be better option if u thinking off 1 off purchase and dun look back for upgrades anymore~ but for me~ i bought my f42am to learn flash portrait 1st~ after almost a year now~ i thinking to buy another f58am and keep use the f42am for wireless strobist usage~

Depends.. normal usage of F42 is more than enough, but if u have sufficient cash , just go directly for the F58.. But seriously the F42 works just as great as the F58 =D

yeap~ its smaller and less bulky too~! easier to fit into small bags for casual outing and trips~

best is u go and try both~ the f58 is better for the cobra tilt~ which u will appreciate a lot for serious portraiture photography~ and stage events coz the f58 has more range and flash power~

wat r u waitin for.. .. i own this 2 flash.. on normal user i think F42 is oredi ngam.. but if the money not a problem go the F58..

If money no problem straight go for a Elinchrom studio lighting. (:
