Hi, I am a newcomer to DSLR. Just bought a A500L and I am anticipating its potential smile.gif
Just bought a Minolta Maxxum 50mm f1.7 and I am thinking of a Minolta telephoto zoom lens.
Question, Beercan or Bigbeercan?

Thanks

Yesterday received 2 questions from fren in the gathering.
The question is very simple, they asked

Question 1 : " How do u judge a photo that is a good shot ? "
Question 2 : " The color tone of photo that u shot compare with what u can see from naked eye is look similar consider good shot ? "

Get the 70-210 F4 rather than the new 70-210 F3.5-F4.5 IQ wasn't so good as the F4 or perhaps I should say that it shows the big differences

Q1 : A good shots defines your composition and also technical understanding on adjust your camera into a right setting to develop a right exposure

Q2 : Well it depends the current environment condition and also what you compose too, however color tone may have your own personal taste to blend on your picture, is not 100% need to be the same color tone as what you see from your naked eye because to defines a good color tone is base on how you want the color mood on your picture be to match your photo's for making an stunning look.

Bro wingster,
Thanks for the answer.

Btw, ppls will question back if they din touch on DSLR

Example:
Question 1 : For me, I did not see different compare between DSLR with correct setting vs normal digital cam. Maybe what u all claim good shot is just a very normal photo for me.

Question 2: Not everybody can accept our taste ...

I was spent around 30min on this topic during the gathering rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

or. get a tripod and a remote shutter.

compose the flowers as a foreground interest subject and then snap!

use a slower shutter speed to blur the movement of the flowers slightly but maintain the background subject...

if u cant shoot in a windy situation, use it to ur advantage. smile.gif

Thanks for the advise.. Will try it one by one.

Well heizad.. Infact the sony F58 is the cheapest among all brands.. I mean, which flash could give u 58 guide no,180 degrees both ways tilting, strobe effect which a pricing of Rm 1.1k. I know Nikon and Canon has it, around 1.6k and 1.5k respectively while how much is sony? 1.1k ...

If you would opt for a cheaper 1, do consider the F42 , its around Rm 750 for a new, bet you could get 2nd hand around 600++
and guess what, all of sony's flash are wireless capable.

QUOTE(lwliam @ Jun 15 2010, 10:58 AM)
Congrats. TTL means through the lens, meaning the camera will take the metering from what light that comes through the lens. So it the flash will fire twice, 1st blast will be used as a gauge to let the camera meter the light needed to add or minus, 2nd blast will be the correct exposure. Its the next best thing u have in your flash apart from the flash lamp itself.

The zoom function is so that the light coming out from the flash is thrown in a tighter or wider spread. The tighter the flash beam, the brighter, hence further the light transverse. Eg. 24mm flash zoom, wider spread of light, 105mm tighter.

Macro lenses are like that, its so that its easier to micro adjust the focal plane to the one u want, thus a smaller gear ratio. So it is VERY recommended to use manual focus when at 1:1 magnification. thumbup.gif

@ 90mm 1:1 bcos of handshake or body movement sometimes hard to lock the focus...  so u'll need MF for this

All sifus,

Have tried my flash at home last night.
I notice that :

1) shuttle speed is fix at 1/125 when plug in external flash. Unable to manually change the shuttle speed.
Is this normal?

2) Will external flash follow body setting ( fill-flash , slow etc.. ) ?

3) When set the external flash on auto zoom, some time will encounter under exposure.
This is because of IR light reflection not accuracy?
However, manage to recover when go to manual mode ( 24mm, 105mm etc )

4) External flash and body need calibration?

5) What mean by Fn buttom on external flash? No function when I pressed.

6) Felt that external flash is heavy and imbalance, can make our body horseshoe to crack?
Is it need any external stand to support between body and external flash?

7) Where can I get F58AM user manual ?

Pls educate me... Thanks in advance.
