guys, just wanna get opinion from u guys, which one is better? a. Maxis Postpaid Broadband, 6GB RM98/mth b. Maxis Prepaid Broadband, 2GB RM25/week if you count package B, you'll get 8GB for RM100 (2GB RM25 x 4 weeks) the only downside is, you have to reload your prepaid and purchase weekly broadband via your handphone. meaning i have to take out the SIM card and put it on a handphone then purchase weekly pass. I'm planning to use my USB modem with this Huawei D100 Wireless Modem router. So I can share my broadband as a WiFi. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1486415&hl=Anyone is using this set up? Is it ok?

QUOTE(mono @ Sep 12 2010, 07:48 PM) i heard with no contract only suitable for those who has their own USB modem. Because Maxis are giving free USB modem (E1552) to those who signed for a 6 months contract. need to pay RM100 for activation fee only. if you want that USB modem without contract, add another RM100. I don't know which package is yours but for the Raya Promotion, 1. There is no contract. 2. The USB modem (E1552) is free. 3. Only have to pay RM100 for activation. 4. For the first 5 months, the bill will be RM38 per month. On the 6th month, then only bill RM48 per month. 5. Get 3GB every month. Attached thumbnail(s)

@cucubud, where do you sign up for this Raya promo? I called maxiss bb but they claimed it was by 'invitation' only & not applicable to existing maxis bb users. To me, it's pure crap. I can just terminate my existing & sign up for this. Yet, the CS fella was unhelpful, as tho if AK was a relative or what....*shrugs.
Personally, maxis always strive to personalise, which is good. But with the advent of forums, things get uncovered - easily. They've got to realise the gimmick of "just for u, ok?" hardly works anymore. Hey, come to think of it, it sounds just like celcom's advert, huh? Wake up maxis!
Out of personal xperience, whatever 'just for u' promos u get will be rolled out to the mass within 3-mths or so.

Dear voodoo8808, Please read post #650 where I did mentioned Maxis in Carrefour Subang Jaya. Please call that outlet to find out more about this offer. I am not invited to have this offer. I stumble on this offer when I went there to pay my Maxis bill. I suggest you call the number listed on post #650 to find out more.

Maxis sometimes DCs for me, but it's like once a month or more. Best broadband ever! More expensive than streamyx, at RM98 for 6GB, it gets capped so damn quickly. Even tho customer service was friendly they couldn't make it work faster - sometimes it caps so fast it's like they cheated me one month and next month they relaxed a bit...
8GB for RM100 is really good, but yeah, prepaid? I don't understand, shouldn't postpaid give a better deal (for any internet service) - faster speed or higher cap - since they are guaranteed services sold? Zzz
But better than streamyx DC every 2 minutes or can't even switch on - it wasn't my modem it was the damn internet.

Been like this for the whole month. me too from klang. connection so far so good. never DC by itself. the only thing i hate is everytime i surf the net for the 1st 20-30 minutes after that suddenly cannot surf at all. hv to wait 10 minutes later then only can surf again. been happening for almost everyday. dunno what is going on with maxis lately.....

Terminate after the 6th Bill and you don't have to pay anything at all.

6 months free modem? Are you guys talking about the small little USB modem?
I don't know which plan I had, 5 months contract with some down payment, 6GB/month, RM98/month. I doubt the modem is useful even if you keep it after 6 months.
