6 months free modem? Are you guys talking about the small little USB modem?

I don't know which plan I had, 5 months contract with some down payment, 6GB/month, RM98/month. I doubt the modem is useful even if you keep it after 6 months.

5. When you reach your subscribed plan’s volume quota, your Broadband connection will be throttled to a lower speed until the end of your billing cycle.
6. Should you wish to continue enjoying regular speeds, you may purchase additional data volume via the MyAccount portal at mylaunchpad.com.my

Does maxis charge after overuse or just throttle the speed ? that speed we get if cap?

Do read the terms on condition:
http://maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/tss/index.asp

Speed is on a best-effort basis, up to 7.2 Mbps. Speed depends on factors like modem capability, location, distance from the communication tower, and the number of simultaneous users.

To ensure that all our users enjoy a quality browsing experience, Maxis will not ensure constant connectivity if you use
peer-to-peer or file sharing programs.

Our plans are designed so you only pay for what you need. Manage and keep track of your usage at the MyAccount portal by clicking here.

If your monthly internet usage consistently exceeds your subscribed plan's data volume quota, we encourage you to subscribe to a plan that suits your internet usage. Just contact us at 1800 82 2000.

Other terms and conditions apply.

for Huawei E172 maybe up to HSUDPA = 7.2mbps or HSDPA = 3.6mbps, hmm.gif
but for Huawei UMG1831 is up to HSPA+ = 28.8mbps, and can get 7.2mbps since Maxis only offers up to that speed. biggrin.gif
