i want to get RM38 promo Maxis. Is this good?

Hello guys. I just registered for Rm48 package last night around 8pm.
Until now, I still cant connect. There was no signal or anything. How do I know whether it has been activated or not?

i register 1 hour ago and I can straight away connect....lolol

Called to the CS, she said no registration was made under my IC number WTF!!!

wow, i using maxis broadband now. not bad....

im using maxis broadband prepaid..if uncap also not very fast..now getting cap want to open this thread also got to refresh few times..utube open then sleep after wake up only can watch(if lucky)..stupid isp..now i know how good u mobile is..u mobile if getting cap still can play call of duty mw2 online without no problem..download also still good..

really? I just got uncapped 3gb at RM38...very fast...>1mbps

B4 i was capped, my speed was 1mbps sumtin..surfing all ok..but after got cap, really2 slow..now i cannot surf at all using my pc..

do u needa pay the Rm 100.00 registration fees?..

Lol don't you know? I have been subscribing the unlimited data package for 6 months! Very fast downloading no cap no throttle.

It is capped. Or else, they won't have 1.5Gb plan, 3.0Gb plan, 6.0 Gb plan or 12 Gb plan.

In the Maxis terminology, their standard of "capped" means cut off the connection when it reach the quota.

In all the other ISP (internet service provider - Celcom, P1, Digi, TM, U-Mobile, Unifi, and etc) standard. Capped means slow down after it exceed the data volume.
So, when your maxis internet usage exceeded the volume (say 3.0 Gb download - 2 movies) . It would be "capped".

I am a unhappy Maxis broadband user and it is really sucks after it is "capped". Can't even open a Gmail interface after it is "capped", have to switch to HTML mode. Really sucks, worst than dial up internet connection.

Added on October 3, 2010, 5:19 pmActually, it would not block now. Just started like March or April 2010. I think the early version of Maxis broadband would block. (eventhough all other ISPs do not practice that in the past... Only Maxis.)
But even though that they do not block now. The throttled/capped speed is barely usable. Only thing you can do after capped is messenger. Check mail also difficult. Standard Gmail also cannot load, have to switch HTML mode of Gmail. (Pathetic)

Other disadvantages of wireless broadband (with HSPDA) is u can't play online game with it even without capped (upload too slow, IP keeps changing because of wireless volatile nature), you can't download TVB movies (they do impose control on web sites and download from where. You would notice incredibly slow or hang but other ISP do not have such problem) , you can't do VNC/remote desktop (Upload speed too slow, not usable for remote surveillance, like CCTV video upload to web site is not possible) .

So, if you just want to surf net or download files. Yes. more than that, think again...

Load gmail also cannot some more it would become very unstable, it could be with 0kbps a moment for few minutes and resume back and on and off. Some kind of random interference logic they impose to get you to upgrade your plan.. (pathetic)

I am RM48 for 1.5GB plan. Can't upgrade for same price. The term and condition is only for "New" subscriber.
This is the way Maxis treat the existing customers. Damn ass....

Oh ya, I have also subscribed to maxis broadband, after creating an account in MyLaunchPad.com.my, the package i am subscribed to is listed as:

What do all these mean?

Mine is uncap I have downloaded 30GB of stuff and yesterday still run at 300++ KB/sec hmmm I oni pay RM99
