Hi , I'm thinking of changing to a new monitor . Currently I'm using Samsung 19" .

Primary : Full HD / HD Ready , Playstation 3 (mainly on gaming and Blu-ray movie)

your budget?Assuming your budget is around RM700,get the Dell U2311H from Dell Online. It doesn't have a HDMI port but you can use a DVI to HDMI converter for it.However it doesn't support 24p Blu-Ray playback [but iinm you can make it not play at 24p,right?]

If you insist on HDMI, go for the ST2420L smile.gif

If you don't even know what is bleeding, high chance is that you don't have any bleeding issue for you to worry about smile.gif

Anyway in a dark room, on the monitor showing a pure black image, you should see the backlight 'bleeding' from the sides, negligible though

Help!

My BenQ 21.5" E2200HD lcd monitor displays 'No signal detected' on dvi and hdmi ports. It has been intermittent for sometime now. Before, I suspected cable but then again its working fine. My pc is working normally too. I've tested using a laptop connected by hdmi to monitor with no avail. It only displays the logo and pops out the error then goes black.

And no, its not my screen settings (primary or secondary display seetings) cause I have no problem with that before. Maybe some faulty caps or power supply? (i dont know the LCD age, maybe 1.5-2yrs already, I've yet to recheck though on the warranty).

My last resort is to replace it if repairs are impractical. So yeah, can anyone suggest at least 21.5" lcd monitor (both for games + hd movies), may or may not have hdmi (dvi will do). Thanks.

Hmm, if you were to change, might as well go for an upgrade.

I'm not sure if you can rule out a cable, try borrowing another cable to try out.

Damn stupid me.

I thought it was the LCD not working, but it was my GPU (ENG GTS 250)!
I used a VGA cable connected from my mobo (got onboard videocard) and the display works fine.

And so I tried the same VGA cable, this time connected from my GPU. It doesn't work. I tried DVI and HDMI ports, still doesn't work. =/

Too bad I can't do further test on the GPU so I will just have to go to Lowyat for testing and possibly send it for RMA =/

Btw guys,

These monitors have 'Asset Management' or DDC/CI where the monitor parameters like the brightness can be adjust from the software.

Hence is there any power management software that will automatically dim the monitor upon idling? - I have my reasons for wanting such feature

If you confirm it has the features then you can google for "dell powernap", I saw this software yesterday on one of my boss's client, though it's not working for G2410. Not sure if this model (G2410) has the feature, anyway it can dim while it's on screen saver, or power save when screen saver, only 2 options.

1) analog & digital inputs. 2 slot. for 2 difference cable. Vga cable(blue) and DVI cable (white) for your information DVI cable is better, it use on digital input

2) Response time from wikipedia explain Clickbasically under 6 or 8ms should be no problem for human eyes

3) dynamic contrast. 50k,1m,5m, now is mega(overblow? tongue.gif ). you try go samsung website view their LCD advertisement should be understand what they talking about. color special effect...亮晶晶 or what what de. Doesn't matter for me anyway. 1m 5m like too overstate. now latest lcd from samsung already give up using this funny advertisement. it just state "Mega Dynamic"

There are many model out there. Pick any suit you eyes. My opinion is pick lcd that got sticker "LED" lol... latest technology...

A is for analog input aka VGA slot.D is for digital input aka DVI.DVI/HDMI/Displayport is better since the digital images from the PC won't have to be converted to analog. Some quality is lost during such conversions.
Response time is the time needed for the colours to change [still depends on how the LCD is rated like GTG ].Basically you don't have to mind this
Those 5m:1 ratio is the contrast ration, and those figures are bullshit.Don't mind them.Such LCDs actually even struggle to get 1000:1 contrast ratio.
If the LCD supports HDCP then you find a DVI to HDMI adapter then plug a HDMI cable from your Xbox to your LCD
Basically try finding one that have a DVI slot and looks the best to your eyes
