just buy your car at your current country. You can even apply to buy from other country in case you are in a LHD country. You are qualified for the program? don't waste it. Get 2 big cars back. But remember you cant sell it within 2 years (even you sell it, buyer need to PAY back the tax) so dont think about profit in this program.
*
Exclude Singapore and all countries with the steering wheel on the left. Also imported cars not always comply with the MY standards and some would need minor mods to be allowed on the road. Requires prior MITI approval and must pass inspection.

Ref.:
You need to meet the following conditions to qualify for an import license:

Residing overseas for a period of no less than one year.
Vehicle must be registered and insured in applicant’s name for no longer than nine months
You must have a valid driving license
Be returning to Malaysia permanently
Apply for the license 3 months from the date of return to Malaysia

Submit your application to MITI

Once the car arrives in Malaysia, the owner must collect it in person from the port of entry. The car is inspected by PUSKAPOM, the Malaysian vehicle inspection agency. They inspect vehicles on behalf of the Malaysian Customs Service. A bill of lading and an Approved Permit must be shown at the inspection.

The IVIC inspection is carried out at all entry points to Malaysia, including Port Klang and is carried out by a vehicle examiner who will examine your vehicle for:
Chassis number
Engine number
AP reference number
Make and model
Engine capacity
Body type
Fuel type
Odometer reading

You should prepare your vehicle for this inspection, ensuring each of these elements meets the required standard.

Just done with selling off a REP car. With all the EEV incentives for a lot of current vehicles, I would suggest that REP incentives are NOT worth the price and hassle to go through.

5 years CRV, you probably can still get 90k. Very good resell value :-)

Bring a copy of your car registration card and your REP documents to the Kelana Jaya customs office and tell them you want to sell your car and how much tax you have to pay. They will take down your phone number and call you back once they have done the calculation.

Thanks for the link. Managed to get the taksiran done. 13k for a 2016 BMW X3 Diesel. Next question is, do we need to get an approval letter to sell the car from TalentCorp?

Share this info to the person who like to sell you TalentCorp REP Tax Free car Process.

Im in the middle to sell off my 9 years old Honda Civic 2.0s (i bought at RM86000 if not mistaken) after search the forum and understanding this is the progress in order to sell your car. Else JPJ title will be blocked

1) For TalentCorp REP program, must get MoF approval Letter to sell the car. (MoF, is not determine the tax you need pay) just prepare approval letter to sell. (Letter needed for Custom)
MoF needed following documents and you can do it via EMAIL. no need walk in to Putrajaya MoF and estimate they revert back in 10 working days. (save time to walk in)

a) TalentCorp Surat Kelulusan copy
b) Car Tittle (geran) copy
c) Photocopy IC (front and Back)
d) Latest mailing address

MoF : Key Contact for handle TalentCorp REP program

1) Main Contact: En Norsujairi : 03-88823373 : norsujairi.cheshaari@treasury.gov.my (Send email to this person)
2) Pn Siti Fatimah: 03-88824638: fatimah.zaharah@treasury.gov.my

2) On the same time you can use the Link below shared by @mongcharchar and get you Eksais (tax) estimation. (I guess most of us still need to paid if want to sell car)

A) informed by Custom at kelana jaya that application for taksiran can be done through : http://eteksi.customs.gov.my/e-teksi/home/ (Good)

B) apply under syarikat lain lain. received a reply 4-5 working days later with amount to be paid. ( please take note is using "syarikat or lain lain" category)

This is the documents you needed for Custom clearance when you walk in to make the payment (Cash / Bank Draft only) (Custom Kelana Jaya).
Item 3 below mentioned selling car below 2 years old (my case is 9 years old. but i still get the letter from MoF from Item 1 above) is NOT needed MoF letter.

user posted image

After you submit the Custom Estimation info from the web site as shared at above, you will received this official payment amount where need to pay. (Im in the middle to appeal, need to know the name and process to reduce)
* once you paid amount and with the required documents guess you can clear JPJ "blocking" on the same day after system updated. (i guess only) then you can do Title Transfer from selling your car

Below is my Honda Civic 2.0s , year 2013 ( 9 years) still need to paid RM3743.23 to clear title. (RM1000+ is SST i think)

Below is the INFO when you have tax free car, without paying or do anything to clear from CUSTOM. This message will be appear when do Title Transfer at JPJ.
user posted image

Below is the after Appeal at the Custom Malaysia Putrajaya (you do not need to walkl in. all vlia email) and the amount compare to first estimation just "save" another RM187.xx only.

so now need to bring this to Custom Kelana Jaya with Cash and paid to release the car for sell (with the document listed at above)

Hi all. Just sharing experience, having just sold 9 year old CKD BMW previously purchased tax free under TalentCorp REP. The car grant had 2 conditions. Both need to be removed before sale.

1. Kastams tax needs to be paid. Applied online for tax assessment. Paid in cash at Kelana Jaya branch. Took one week to complete.
2. Sale prohibited within 2 years. Wrote to MOF for removal of this restriction - Signed PDF of formal letter. Official in charge is new (natasha.jaffri@treasury.gov.my). Emailed her the car grant and IC scan. Reply received acknowledging receipt of application. Then a week later came approval in softcopy and hardcopy.

After above completed, went to JPJ Wangsa Maju to print out new car grant without any conditions. Tried UTC Pudu, but the officer asked to go to main JPJ office.

Ended up selling to a second hand car dealer instead of through the new online platforms.

you will have to reach out to individual dealers unfortunately - bmw, mercedes, volvo all removed their REP / MM2H pricing from their websites.

I also looking for this. I currently only gotten this from Volvo

Excise Duty for:
XC40B5 Rm76556.71
XC60B5 Rm91164.80
XC90B5 Rm98278.34
XC60T8 RM42774.50
XC90T8 RM44131.05

Just minus off the retail and you’ll arrive at the tax free price

If you acquire other brands please share with me. Honda/Toyota or even Porsche CKD I would like to consider

I just paid the excise on my 2018 Volvo XC60 T5 - original price 288k with 76k excise (net was around 210k). Today just paid 17k to clear it after 5 years so that can sell. Cash / debit card (limited to 20k) or bank draft only @ Kelana Jaya

Followed the eteksi steps, they reverted within 5 working days. Didn’t bother appealing.

For those planning to get an REP / TalentCorp car, just be aware of the hassle of doing this after 3/5/7/9 years.

And yes they say “buyer” pay duties, in reality you have to settle it first as the owner… otherwise cannot tukar milik or bring to dealer anyway

And for JPJ can only do it at Wangsa Maju or Padang Jawa, within Klang Valley

Do you have the excise duty for S60 T8? Thinking to get this with REP incentive. But it seems like the PHEV already has lower excise duty compared to the ICE cars so the savings doesn’t really seems to be attractive enough.
