Yo Viper, no problem man
Blackie, Razer, Aso and Ratchet they are all FS of rare breed. They might not be the largest, but definitely they are few of the most strong-willed and tenacious FS in the world. This Sat morning met up with Randy, Kamal and a new Kaki aka Michael for FS hunting in the west side. Well.. again it was an Extremely Enjoyable Day for us. Recorded several videos too. Currently, we are trying to breed the baby mealworms and leng-chee-worms as alternative staple food for our FS. This is really interesting! As i have been thinking about it long time ago but didnt got a chance to materialize it until i met Randy. Once successful, our FS will have a healthier life too, i am so much looking forward to that. As usual, he is one of the kaki who always produces good fighters, currently he got a ML FS which is quite strong. These are the few fites videoed, but i am sorry that the video quality were not as good. QUOTE(viper88 @ Oct 5 2010, 10:30 AM) Mindstorm, since you did the timing count for my FS fight previously (4 mins fight 2mins break), maybe you can do a comparison of the active fight time between these 2 long fight videos. Which of these 2 FS fights you think are more active and longer fight contact duration? Viper's Blackie vs Viper's Razer (14Aug2008) Total time recorded = 6 min 10s. Total break = 2 min 13s. Total fight = 3 min 57s Ura's Aso vs Zaly's Ratchet [1st Oct 2010] Total time recorded = 9 min 6 sec. Total break = 4min, 59 secs. Total fight = 4 min 7s!! Base on our estimated fight time analysis, we have to conclude that the previous fight record have indeed been broken by about 10s base on active fight time. The previous record is just as incredible, having stood for more than 2 years but finally we have a worthy new record. Both i'm sure are fights we never thought would be possible if we didn't see it with our own eyes, thanks to video recording. Now they're fossilized in youtube for current or future fs kakis to be awed and to be a benchmark for future fights to match up to. Wonder how many years more before the new record, if ever, will be broken. Added on October 11, 2010, 1:27 am QUOTE(jong71 @ Oct 10 2010, 10:07 AM) Awesome spiders. HaHa! according to reports males grow up to 10mm in body length which is pretty big. 2.5mm would make it the largest jumping spider in the world already...larger than hyllus diardi. thanks to you, i stumbled upon this awesome link Malaysia-Singapore salticids http://salticidae.org/2005Singapore/photos/mysg/mysg.html i'm sure many of us know about the index page (http://salticidae.org) and its associated diagnostic pages (eg. http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/th...a/bham-mph.htm) but seems there is no nagivation link to the above pages or it is hard to find from there. Bathippus male 05-007 http://salticidae.org/2005Singapore/photos/mysg/Page5.html (another clear picture of bathippus http://www.flickr.com/photos/ehktang/2463712883/) check out the blackish thiania male Thiania male 05-029 http://salticidae.org/2005Singapore/photos/mysg/Page6.html wonder where they found that finally got the id of my unknown jumper Anarrhotus male 05-014 (S) http://salticidae.org/2005Singapore/photos/mysg/Page12.html (seems to be the only photo with id found in the internet!, they're that elusive despite their size...) Added on October 12, 2010, 1:39 am QUOTE(Urahinuk @ Oct 6 2010, 01:04 AM) By the way there is a sad news to announce, Zaly told me that Ratchet has RIP few days ago. But i don't know about the details yet. Maybe just as what you supposed, Aso was really injecting venom into him at the 7:57s. Despite so, Ratchet definitely made a very good name for himself as a fs born in our fave spot N*U. is it possible that the reason Ratchet died was because of the delayed effect of the poison by its own species? in other words, is it often or very possible that if a fs is allowed to be bitten and held for a long time in a fight, then likely it may die after a couple of days? That white-black thiania is one i've never come across. It looks quite big. So that species is Anarrhotus. Looks similiar to Pancorius, hyllus and evarcha, at least to me.... |

Added on October 12, 2010, 1:39 am actually this is quite an insight. is it possible that the reason Ratchet died was because of the delayed effect of the poison by its own species? in other words, is it often or very possible that if a fs is allowed to be bitten and held for a long time in a fight, then likely it may die after a couple of days? [/quote] Hi Mindstorm, i think it is very likely the reason. Because in the past, there were also a few of the other Kaki's FS who didnt die straight after match, but a couple of days later especially for those victims who were bitten on the abdomen. For my FS's experiences, it is more like they became weaker and slower after that particular fight, legs became non-sticky earlier, became less jumpy, poorer appetite and etc. In other words, their lifespan had been shortened. Though we can't avoid such tragedy totally, as long as we managed to video the fight(if a good one) successfully, whatever happen later wouldnt be as regrettable, because the concrete evidence that a FS once fought so well will always be there. Once again i would like to say this, RIP Ratchet Here are some new photos of my 10 adopted children with their short profile: Name: Ramen Style: Suppow Date: 30th Aug 2010 ~ Current Color: Moderate Green Size: ML Name: Aso Style: Koppow Date: 31st Aug 2010 ~ Current Color: Light Greenish Blue Size: ML Name: Tarsus Style: Koppow Date: 4th Sep 2010 ~ Current Color: Dark Blue Size: ML Name: Greem Style: Gostun-Koppow Date: 5th Sep 2010 ~ Current Color: Dark Green Size: ML Name: Spring Style: Normal Fighter Date: 10th Sep 2010 ~ Current Color: Moderate Greenish Cyan Size: ML Name: Akuma Style: Koppow Date: 12th Sep 2010 ~ Current Color: Moderate Greenish Gold Size: ML Name: Daimon Style: Normal Fighter Date: 19th Sep 2010 ~ Current Color: Light Gold Size: ML Name: Trio Style: Normal Fighter(occasionally Gostun) Date: 25th Sep 2010 ~ Current Color: Light Blue Size: L Name: Viscus Style: Gostunpow Date: 28th Sep 2010 ~ Current Color: Moderate Green Size: ML Name: Missile Style: Koppow Date: 1st Oct 2010 ~ Current Color: Moderate Bluish Green Size: ML HI to All FS Bros, pls let me know which photo is the best in your opinion if you have seen them? Hello everyone!!!!
Hope everyone is good!!! It's so good to see so many people interested in catching FS's. Wow!! I'm amazed. I would like to say hello to everyone. =) Haha, Ura, ur 10 adopted children, that was funny! I'm looking forward to this Sat's hunt!! So far to me, two of the most interesting spiders that I won't forget (as long as I'm sane!) are - Aso, and - Pincer Aso, for his diabolical tenacity and Pincer, for his never-say-die attitude!!! Pincer really touches my heart. I've never seen him, but that one fight with Bullet on youtube showed me what a class of a spider he is. An ace of a fighting spider, with an enduring and relentless spirit!!! Ok, gotta go! Have a good day guys!!! Sincerely, Kamal |

QUOTE(jong71 @ Oct 16 2010, 02:50 AM) Hey Jong me too i like this photo, it is sort of an Artistic feel to me. Today met up with Randy and Kamal again for FS hunting and FS bouts. Well.. it sort of becoming a "Mandatory Once-a-Week event" for us hahaha, seems like our FS enthusiasm is never fading away. Current Active Kakis not many though, what i can see is: Randy, Kamal, Michael, Jong, Krauser, Zaly and Me. Where are the rest of the SG Kakis??? Are you guys still reading this FS forum??? If yes pls make some "noise" here, it would be much appreciated. Really have to Kudos to Randy However, it is not obtainable from shops, Randy got this thru his connection with his friends who are breeding these LC worms, therefore these are really precious worms haha. And I truly regard this as a Major Contribution to our FS Arena. Here are 2 videos on my FS sampling the LC worms, they are really YUMMY i guess. Debut!! Ramen feasting on M-size LC worm!! - 151010 Daimon preying on S-size LC worm!! - 161010 Recorded quite a few good fight videos today! In fact even it was just a short and unproductive hunting session today, the videos alone already made our day!! Randy's 1st King Valtor definitely had improved his Fighting Skills and Endurance remarkably over the past few weeks. Also feel that he is indeed a FS of respectable size(越看越大只), should be a Big ML(just slightly smaller than L-size). He got a new FS named Savage is a Daredevil and Potential Fighter, despite smaller size than the 2 FS he fought with, he was able to match well with them. Savage(left) vs Unknown Chop(right) - 161010 Aso(right) vs Valtor(left) - 161010 Valtor(right) vs Random Fs - 161010 Greem(right) vs Valtor(left) - 161010 Missile(bottom) vs Puff Daddy(top) - 161010 Missile(top) vs Savage(bottom) - 161010 Trio(top) vs Missile(bottom) Rd4 - 161010 Hey Mindstorm, in around 2 weeks time from now, Randy will be going to Msia, passing by KL, would you be free to meet up with him? He suggested if you're free, and can hunt together with him and if you got any good catch, he can bring it back to SG with your permission and test fighting with our FS here.
