18-105VR's front head wont turn that's why the petal shaped hood >.<

The focusing is internal, not external like 18-55mm. So you can't possibly turn the front part and if you can then the lens must have some problem. Don't try to force turn it >.<

>.< check the lens name, it's AF-S 18-105mm VR. AF-S means it can AUTOFOCUS on any nikon dslr like d40~d3s. If it's AF-D or AF then it can only autofocus in bodies with BUILT IN MOTOR.

So, 18-105mm can autofocus in d90 and entry levels like d40. But if u turn off the lens af the body won't af the lens. vice versa.

hmm.. anyone know how to test out whether each of the motor is working fine?
example.. turning off the motor on the lens n turn on the d90 body motor on & turning off the d90 body motor and turning on the lens motor?
this way, can verify whether both motor is working fine or not..

cannot do like this. for AF-S lenses, u turn off either motor (body or lens) it wont autofocus. It's like if it's AF-S, lens will use its motorm if not AF-S, like AF-D, will use body's motor. You can try this with 50mm f1.8. 18-105mm cant.

Hi, this probably out of topic but does anyone know whether Speedlite Di622 can be used with Nikon D90? I read the manual but it says only D40, D40x, D50, D60, D70, D70s, D80, D200 and D300 and it doesn't say anything about D90. when I goggled it did mentioned about D90. I'm confused, please help. Thanks.

ic.. there is no way to test out unless i use the 18-105 on non motor body and use a non motor lens to test it out.
thanks

di622 can be used on all nikon dslr bodies i think. Can be used on my ex-d40 and d90.

Sb600 can be used on canon 450D perfectly, i wonder why, tested myself and it's true. but di622 nikon mount can't be used on 450D =X

Nikon warranty doesn't need to register online. Just keep your unfilled warranty card you do. For Nikon Malaysia set, the distributor will be Nikon Malaysia. the warranty card white or yellow also can as long as the distributor is Nikon Malaysia.

Hello sifus...!

Just wanna ask if i'm getting a reversing ring for D90 kit lense it should be the one which is 67mm right?

I've tried taking insects using the 18-105mm lense.. crop it out and it doesn't look as satisfying as those taken with macro lense.. so decided to tried out the cheapest way to get awesome macro shots.. kekeke thumbup.gif

But raynox is about RM300+-

Reversing ring should some how be cheaper compare to raynox???

Limited budget arrr.. but raynox seems tempting as well..

Maybe i should wait longer for that? hmm.gif

i've check the price in shashinki, reversing ring from nikon selling at RM95.. and thats not even the 67mm ones.. =.=

http://shashinki.com/shop/nikon-br2a-52mm-...-ring-p-30.html
