14.2km/L is very poor fuel consumption? Are u sure u know what it means? 

For instance, a Toyota Vios has a 42L fuel tank. So with a fuel consumption of 14.2km/L, a full tank can easily take the Vios almost 600km. And u say this is very poor? If that is considered very poor then a good rating would be about 20km/L giving a total full tank mileage of 840km. This means that a full tank on a Vios can take you from Singapore to Haadyai??? 

not many car can do better than 12km/liter in CITY driving.

2 liter car if can get 10km/liter in city, is damn good. usually is 7km-8km

if you buy rm100k car, and still look at FC, then, better save the money. Myvi only rm50k. you can keep the RM50k and pump fuel for the rest of your life

even 2 liter civic is not doing well in city driving. but then, if one can afford rm130k, one wouldnt care too much about FC anyway.

ROFL! He's a VIOS owner, whaddaya expect. I wonder how's his Vios fuel consumption like?

I too am a Vios owner and you can get about 16km/L for highway drive which is good and many other cars also have the same. But to say that the Avante 14.2km/L is really poor doesnt make sense at all.

How about Myvi? My Myvi gets about 11.6km/L on city driving. That's why to me, the fuel consumption is better than my Myvi.

I think there is a mistake on the conversion from mpg to kml.
The US Elantra (Avante) claim can achieve 29mpg(city) and 40mpg(highway).

29mpg is 12.33kml or 8.11l/100km (quite good)

40mpg is 17.01kml or 5.88l/100km (impressive)

50mpg is 21.26kml or 4.7l/100km (marvellous)
